  • ‘Freeh’ Speech When It Comes To VP Talk

Posted by Andy on February 13th, 2008

I swung by an establishment last night for some dinner since 35W in the North metro was resembling a parking lot a little more than usual. I was plunking away on my laptop and enjoying nice food and beverage when one of the bartenders I know wanted a quick rundown of where the Presidential race is.

My response was, “we can get rid of whoever wins in 2012.”

All joking aside, I gave them the rundown. McCain has the GOP nod locked up. It is really looking like Obama on the Dems, but the Super Delegates could blunt the popular vote. (huh, just imagine if the Democratic base votes Obama in, but the bureaucrats hand it to Hillary. Can anyone say voter disenfranchisement? How about Bush v Gore? They could never ever say that general elections are fixed when they have their endorsement voting modeled after the soviet regime. )

Anyways as we were talking, another patron was listening in and we got to talking afterwards. He was from Tennessee and had volunteered for Fred Thompson’s 1994 (?) reelection campaign for the US Senate. He was pretty bummed to see him drop out too.

We began to talk about the VPstakes and the guy had an interesting idea on who McCain should pick. Louis Freeh, Bill Clinton’s former FBI Director.

Pick a Democrat? I know, that’s what my response was, but the guy was a Republican. But he was backing Rudy until he got out.

If Clinton gets the Democratic nomination, I can think of no one better to have on the McCain ticket than a former Clinton administration official who knows first hand how terrible Bill Clinton was for this country’s national security.
