Can You Hang On A Minute? We’re Screwed

I was getting a lot of calls from folks this morning. It is time for me to get some work done, but before I do I wanted to share a tidbit/rumor from one call and see if it is true and get your thoughts.
With the DFL picking up the SD25 seat earlier this month in the special election, I am told they now have (on top of a veto proof majority) the party line ability to impeach judges. I am guessing, but I would think they could also use this for other positions, and/or cabinet appointments.
One of the other details explained to me is the process when a bill is vetoed, it goes back to the body where it originated. So you WILL see all the bad fringe lefty liberal bills come out of the MN Senate this year. They will pass the House, go to the Guv. He’ll veto them and then they will go back to the Senate where they can override them. And this is where it gets interesting.
Then it would be up to Maggie Keliher to decide if and when they take them up in the MN House. She only needs, what, 2 or 3 Republicans to side with the DFL to override the Guv, right? So when the Senate does override, Keliher could sit back and wait. And by wait, I mean let Education MN, the Unions, MoveOn, the Strib, CCO, PiPress, etc etc etc, pound the crap out of the Republicans squishes in the court of public opinion until they cave.
Thoughts?

Just because they can, doesn’t mean they will. Why go to the mat now when they can win all the marbles in 2008? If they go for total revolution now, they risk losing “moderates” and independents. If they do impeachment on purely political grounds they will lose the majority of people who find that kind of thing boring and/or a scandalous waste of time and resources for anything short of major criminal activity.
