Follow the Money, Now You Can

There’s a new gizmo for political wonks. Political Base has created a tool where you can view political donations by map view.

You’ll see a map of Minnesota on the right. Click there to dig into who is giving to who, and where is giving to who.

I am told you can also search their database by things such as zipcodes and see where your neighbors are donating, as well as by interest group or issue.

It is pretty cool.

You can also filter the data by contributor’s name. Here’s who El ‘Senior Gas Tax Increase’ Tinklenberg has been giving to. He sure seems to like Jim ‘Pork Barrel Spending for Bike Trails’ Oberstar an awful lot. I guess they share the same value in taxing the crap out of commuters at the pump.

The widget will be on my sidebar. Be sure to browse through regularly to track the money race in the POTUS and all sorts of stuff.
