Words To Live By
"You're just petty politicians, who'd sooner sign onto the wisdom of a tyrant in another country, than the demands of ticked off voters in your own." (Neil Cavuto June 2008)

“I didn’t question her patriotism. I questioned her judgment.” Mr. Cheney went on: “The point I made and I’ll make it again is that Al Qaeda functions on the basis that they think they can break our will. That’s their fundamental underlying strategy, that if they can kill enough Americans or cause enough havoc, create enough chaos in Iraq, then we’ll quit and go home. And my statement was that if we adopt the Pelosi policy, that then we will validate the strategy of Al Qaeda. I said it, and I meant it.” (Vice President Cheney NYT Feb. 2007)

"A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers. (Ronald Reagan March 1, 1975)

"Oh, no! First of all, if I took one vote away from a serious candidate, it would be a sin." (Al Franken Time Magazine, 9/1/03)

Screw dat!

That vein is popping out of my head now after reading this, more tomorrow.  Oh yeah, McPlenty tag is back, deservedly so!

There are certainly some interesting folks on the governor’s advisory committee…a whole lot of special interest people. (Nice people, no doubt, but they do have interests that differ widely from the average guy/gal on the street.) And I’ll bet every one of them drives and/or flies a whole lot more miles than most of us. And just who is going to be in charge of making sure everybody lives close to where they work?? And here comes the clinker…we could get to buy and sell carbon credits! I’ve been around for seven decades now and I truly believe this is the biggest scam I’ve ever read about. The rich get to buy credits to continue doing ewhat they want to do. The rest of us with slimmer wallets and dinky bank accounts can walk or stay home. Please, folks, don’t just sit there…there has to be some better ways.

TPaw should scare every Republican. You are one of the few who realize that Tim Pawlenty is not a Republican, even by RINO standards now. (Is that an oxymoron?) I’m with you.

It’s odd. I’d still rather have Pawlenty over Hatch.

    Brent

If Hatch formed a green charter environutter/Al Gore-esque commission whose hidden agenda is the destruction of the way we lives our lives, I think even you would be upset.

Pull off the blinders Brent, if you haven’t noticed, Liberalism/socialism is on the march in Minnesota. Party affiliation alone is not a weapon against it, nor will it stop it.

You must act accordingly if in office to stop it, and for us rank and file Republicans, we must make sure our elected officials don’t cowtow to liberal special interests.

And in the end, why a lot of people are afraid of pawlenty is how is is willing to please who ever he thinks he needs to to stay pertinent. I’m sure many are thrilled, yourself included, that conservatives are fed up with the RINOs who now define our party. Pawlenty seems he could care less. We got him elected in 2002, when he was a conservative. (little latitude please folks, he is still good on some issues)

But now that the party has fractured following the 2006 elections, he sees no use for us, and is falling prey to the special interests who lurk at the capital. He’s now convinced those are the people he needs to keep happy.

He’ll likely not need the Republican party activists again. No reelection in 2010, no need to win an endorsement. In otherwords, he is no longer our guy. He’s the big government’s guy now.

You should be afraid too Brent, that is, unless you want socialism to reign supreme in Minnesota.
