  • Romney & SCHIPS - Too ‘Clever’ By 8.8%

Posted by Andy on October 1st, 2007

mittsmirk.jpg Mitt Romney has won the hearts of many conservatives (mostly women) I know. I can understand why. When he gets that twinkle in his eye, his head tilts to the side, and he spins an issue he is dead on conservative arrival on, sure the certain types would think he can win it or is the next best thing to Reagan. But the guy is a complete and total hypocrite.

Don’t take my word for it, take his successor’s. And if that doesn’t do it for you, do you remember Pawlenty’s call for Universal Health Care? Yeah that was based on Romney’s plan in Mass. Soundly rejected by conservatives here in Minnesota as simply Government run health care….. It is that whole word, Universal.

We all have access to the same Health care, and that is a universal fact. Sure the costs deter some from getting it, but they aren’t rejected like say smokers or the obesse are.

SCHIPS is simply opening the door for Government run health care, and I applaud Romney for opposing it….. NOW. I am all for helping make sure people get the health care when they need it, but Government is the last place I would look for an answer to the rising costs of Health Care, and that is why I don’t trust Romney. You see in my mind, Government is the cause of the high prices with its mandates and requirements.

Romney is a big Government Republican. As Governor of a liberal state, he backed provisions that got Government involved in the free markets. Oh sure, some spinsters will say that he was just working with what he could, IE a liberal State. But history should prove that when Government gets involved, costs go up and true free market solutions and personal responsibility are lost.

As a Republican Presidential candidate, he has now somehow found religion on limited Government, but I don’t buy it. His record as a liberal state’s top executive is less than conservative. What’s to make me believe his being President would be any different, especially with a liberal Congress.

Sorry, but that smirk ain’t gonna cut it. It being the growth and oppression of Government.
