Plum(bing) Tired
Posted by Andy on September 21st, 2007
I had to head to the cabin yesterday. The Septic Company was coming to install the new system, and I had to reroute the plumbing under the place. I spent all day on my back and knees cutting out 50 year old cast iron drain lines and hanging new PVC drains. Oh and digging a trench under the footing from the crawl space under the cabin to the outside so the company could hook up the new system.
I will be heading back up again tonight to correct 2 minor glitches I discovered when grabbing all the tools out from under the place last night. Not major things. Just minor “what was I thinking” deals. Like the trap for the shower, and the main outlet line slipped out of the hub before the glue dried.
But hey, I flushed the toilet in the place yesterday for the first time in months. That is progress.
Anyways, I’ll be heading up to take care of those things as well as finish up running a couple new water lines. I’ll also have to take care of the mud and hope that rain yesterday wasn’t too bad. Most of the yard has been dug up in the process of adding the new well and septic systems.
I will try to remember to snap some pics.
So take care and have a good weekend. Hopefully when I come back, I will care about the political world again. Right now I feel like re-prioritizing my time and energy to where it really matters. Family, work, girlfriend, dogs, home, and health …. not in that order is more important.
