With All Due Respect, We’re Pretty Much There Already
Rep. Jim Ramstad (RINO MN3) may be retiring. MDE broke the news. Gary at TvM is not celebrating.
As I see it, we’re already at a 6-2 split. When the GOP going gets tough, Ramstad always got going. He pretty much the perfect example of what is wrong with this party, if you can win, then you’re in til you decide to quit.
Oh, and had Ramstad been adept for getting Republican stuff done, at least one thing or another, the way Oberstar and Peterson do, well we could talk about longevity, but frankly he spends most of his time on the other side of the isle getting stuff done.
So ya, thanks for stealing all those Sierra Club and League of Conservation Voters endorsements from the Democrats all these years….
Can someone please make sure Brent is on suicide watch should the Rammer really announce his retirement.
OKOK, That may have been cruel. So fine.
Please tell me Rep. Jim Ramstad’s major accomplishments in Congress. (use comments please)

Hahaha!
I was really stunned and sickened when I heard that Rep Ramstad announced today that he would not be running again.
My long-term thought has been that if Ramstad ever retired we would lose that seat to the DFL. I agree with Gary, I don’t think we will hold it next year without Ramstad.
I appreciate the caucus tutorial you typed up. I think that a lot of conservatives whine a lot about who is on the ballot but have no clue how they got to be on the ballot. You can’t change a party if you don’t know the process.
But, on the other hand, I’m afraid that the conservatives in the 3rd district will nominate someone who will be way to conservative to win in the district. but that is the consequence they will have to accept.
I plan on being a delegate to the 3rd district convention to vote to endorse a candidate who can win in the 3rd. I’m not even sure yet if there is anyone who would be strong enough to win in the 3rd. I’ll just have to wait and see.
