There’s a great counter point in the Strib to one of their own fawning over Rep. Jim Oberstar’s (D MN8) power grab bill, which he is calling a clean water act. Turns out, it gives unprecidented power to the Federal Government.

The editorial states that the “crux of the matter is whether Americans have an interest in protecting isolated wetlands and other non-navigable waters.” This is not the crux of the matter at all. Rather it is whether the federal government should be granted such expansive authority over the daily lives of average citizens.

Go check the whole thing out to find out more.

Oberstar’s bill is the biggest assault on freedom and common sense. Thankfully, a few good people are not buying the snake oil that Oberstar are selling. They’re fighting back in order to keep us free.

If Oberstar and the Strib get their way, the Federal Govrnment can (and will) take any land it wants. Sorry, but that is power I don’t think the Government should have.
