Holy Schtuckee #3 – 35W Bridge Collapse

The rain storm broke up and isn’t hitting the area. Thanks must go up to the big guy upstairs.

We have one confirmed drowning. Multiple critical injuries. There’s a report that some 20 or so construction workers may be missing. There were workers on foot who were on the bridge span that is now in the river.

There is no sign of terror, but the FBI is here.

I’m getting numb to the idea of what happened now and what is happening at the site.

Minneapolis Mayor RT Rybak and Governor Pawlenty will be having a press conference at 9PM central time.

Update 9:00PM

I just heard a report from one firefighter that “everyone who could be rescued, was rescued”. Not something you want to hear, but frankly you’ve seen the pictures and live coverage. The accident was 3 hours ago. If they are visible, they are under something.

On a worse note, another heavy rain storm is hitting my house again.

Update 9:11PM

Minneapolis Police Chief Time Dolan has once again said all survivors have been rescued.

That means the death toll will likely grow.

They are asking people in the Twin Cities to avoid cell phones and stay away from the area.

In case I missed it before, the signs point to it being a collapse. I am very suspect of the construction that was being done.
