Words To Live By
"You're just petty politicians, who'd sooner sign onto the wisdom of a tyrant in another country, than the demands of ticked off voters in your own." (Neil Cavuto June 2008)

“I didn’t question her patriotism. I questioned her judgment.” Mr. Cheney went on: “The point I made and I’ll make it again is that Al Qaeda functions on the basis that they think they can break our will. That’s their fundamental underlying strategy, that if they can kill enough Americans or cause enough havoc, create enough chaos in Iraq, then we’ll quit and go home. And my statement was that if we adopt the Pelosi policy, that then we will validate the strategy of Al Qaeda. I said it, and I meant it.” (Vice President Cheney NYT Feb. 2007)

"A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers. (Ronald Reagan March 1, 1975)

"Oh, no! First of all, if I took one vote away from a serious candidate, it would be a sin." (Al Franken Time Magazine, 9/1/03)

You Are Either With Us, Or Against Us (You too Norm)

victory_caucus_sm.png Senatorial Warning for Pansies

So there is a mutiny afoot in the GOP ranks of the US Senate.

Three more Republican senators have called for a change of course recently, adding to a steady trickle of defections since Richard Lugar became the most senior to break from Mr Bush over the war last month.

Yes, more patriots of freedom waiving their brightest sets of briefs in the face of electoral pressure.

“It should be clear to the president that there needs to be a new strategy,” Lamar Alexander of Tennessee told the Los Angeles Times on Saturday.

Senator Judd Gregg of New Hampshire told the same newspaper that efforts to quell the violence in Iraq by increasing US troop numbers “don’t seem to be making a lot of progress” and called for “a clear blueprint” to end the war.

The comments came two days after Pete Domenici of New Mexico, said he could no longer support current strategy.

The three senators are among six Republicans who have voiced support for bipartisan legislation that aims to prepare the ground for US troops to start leaving Iraq by March next year

Ahh, yes, the spinelesspansy assed caucus, who are all committed to saving their own asses, over and above that of this nation, our allies, or to defeat absolute evil hell bent on waging war against us. I say to hell with anyone who stands between this nation and victory in the war on terror.

You are either with us or against us. You decide.

I’m getting pretty worried about our own Senator Coleman.

Coleman’s chief spokesman, Tom Steward, released a statement saying that Coleman “respects and shares the frustrations of those who are concerned about the continuing violence and political stalemate in Iraq.”

Coleman, he added, “has been quite vocal in expressing his concerns to the president regarding the direction of our policy in Iraq.”

Yes, the Senator has been calculating the appropriate amount of defeatism on Iraq he needs to be reelected. And sadly I am very worried he may cave to the political pressure, rather than defeat America’s enemies foreign and domestic.

Iran is pulling the strings in Iraq. Only a weakminded person would believe that we have no choice but to retreat in this war. Iranian arms, resources, and military personnel have been found in Iraq. They are actively at war with us, do we need more burning buildings to realize this?

And now there is a report of Chinese weapons in Iraq that hits the wires. then add to that the news that 45 muslim doctors were planning to carry out similar operations in the US, that had just been attempted in the UK.

Wake up Senators. There is no losing this war. there is no ending it on YOUR terms. We must defeat evil, however we have to so that our country can remain safe. Just because the Iraqi government is not running as seemlessly [snicker] as ours, does not remove the fact that we’re engaged in a global war. If we leave Iraq, Iran and al Qaida will take it over and use it as a staging ground for their goal, world domination.

War sucks! It does, but unfortunately that is the world we live in. There are people who are willing to strap a bomb on them to kill innocent women and children. there are doctors trained to save lives who will try to car bomb as well. And let’s not forget that there are animals in this world who will turn passenger airliners into missiles and target buildings right here in the US.

And don’t forget for one second that one of the suspected targets that September morning, back on that day you seem to have forgotten all about, was the building you are so desperately trying to keep your job at, the US Capital.

So as all you Senators and Representatives find it comforting to your career to distance yourself from this reality, be prepared to be called the names that fit. Cowards. Turncoats. and Pansies.

I for one will not support someone who votes against victory. That my friends and detractors is a promise.

There is no greater principle that conservative Republicans have than national security.

How in the hell is running away from the field of battle with numerous enemies going to make us safer in any way? They will have a US free zone to prepare for their next attack.

Call Senator Coleman and make sure he doesn’t cave to pacifist pressure. He’s being targeted by anti-war groups who are running ads in Minnesota.

If he votes with the Democrats on this one, I fear he’ll be guaranteeing that Republicans lose the US Senate seat he has.

Why would voters choose a Republican who votes and sounds like a Democrat when they could have a perfectly good Democrat?
