What. A. Week.
So last week I was busting my buns on a “vacation”. I spent the week working on the cabin. And what usually happens when you come back to work from a vacation? Yep, all heck breaks loose.
It has been a long and hard week for me. Non-stop, physical, and mental labor all week. I just got home here on a Friday night. Busted my butt all day, and ended up putting a fresh coat of paint on my bumper as my truck will be in a parade tomorrow. Not me though.
Lugnut, my newly acquired Bulldog has an affinity for getting under my fence and into my neighbor’s yard to play with her dog. Due to being out of town, and work, I haven’t been able to get to fixing the fence. Well, I don’t really have to “fix” it, I have to make it so the 80 pound bulldog can’t dig under it, or push his way under the perfectly functioning fence.
Oh and my yard looks like crap, so I have some bushes to pull, some old stumps to clean up, and dead weed patches to fix. Not to mention going and hanging out with my Grandma which I have seen far too little of the last few months. She’s healthy physically, but could use a pick me up. I have got to find the time to go see her more than I do.
Truth be told I would love to just take the weekend and spend it curled up on the couch in the basement watching movies and resting, but that ain’t in the cards. I have to do this stuff when I have the time, and well, this is the weekend I do.
So I will be relaxing from a long week of bone crushing work to the point where my back is killing me, arms feel like rubber from all the holes dug and landscaping installed, road project oversight, and non-stop Community Management duties…. by working my arse off at home, basically doing what i did all week, and will be next week.
I’m not trying to complain, although it does seem that way. I am trying to reveal to you all what lies behind the scenes of Residual Forces.
I hope to take some time and catch up on the news of the week. I haven’t been ignoring all the tips and links sent to me. I just haven’t had the time to sleep, let alone go off on a rant or dozen.
Have a good weekend for your bad selves. I will be having a busy one, but thankfully, I am going to go out and have a nice dinner tonight with the girlfriend. Call it a celebration of us both making it through hellish back to work weeks following vacations. ( I just hope I can stay awake long enough for the entree.)
