It's pretty much everything. First, every product needs to be shipped. Therefore, the high cost of fuel already means higher prices on everything, but ethanol packs a double punch. The inflated demand for corn caused by ethanol subsidies and - worse - mandates, is resulting in incresed costs for virtually all agricultural products. Livestock eat corn feed, so meat and dairy cost more. Bread, tortillas, cereal, popcorn, just plain corn, and countless other products are seeing soaring prices because of this debacle that is really nothing more than a very expensive big-ag subsidy. The effects are destructive, and are only now beginning to be felt. I predict it will get much worse. End result: working families are finding it harder to support their familes, get around and put food on the table. Sounds like progress to me! Don't eat food, burn it!
