  • Would It Kill You To Pick Up The Phone And Ask?

Posted by Andy on June 4th, 2007

Here’s an email i sent off last night.

    Pat Doyle  & Dan Browning,

I know you hold your sources to be confidential, and I am not asking you reveal them, but rather, help prove I am not one of them.

I am a Republican activist & blogger (www.residualforces.com) and have been critical of Ron Carey. Since your story has been published, there have been emails and calls made stating and implying that I was a or the source for your story, a notion I have repeatedly denied, but none-the-less people are trying to smear me with it.

All I am asking is that you confirm that I did not leak any information or the memo to you. To my knowledge, that should be easy, as I have never had any contact with either of you. I would ask that if you do reply, that I have your permission to post the response on my blog.

    Thank you,

    Andy A. Aplikowski

Since some people won’t take my word, and are trying to blame me for something I did not do.

How about we go straight to the source? Let’s ask the Strib reporters if it was me.

Andy: Can you source this statement?

“Since your story has been published, there have been emails and calls made stating and implying that I was a or the source for your story, a notion I have repeatedly denied, but none-the-less people are trying to smear me with it.”

Which emails and phone-calls are you referring to?

I hate to be a wet blanket but the odds of them answering you are slim. Most media folks dislike talking about how a story was put together.

      Andy,

Why will you not answer Michael’s completely legitimate questions?

Your silence is deafening and says a lot.

    4. Andy Says:

Calls are being made to Delegates saying it was me who leaked the memo. I have spoken to people who have received them.

Unfortunately, someone is being duplicitous and is trying to say that it is completely acceptable that people suspect I did leak it which an email does lead some to believe.

All in all, the spin, which is the more sentient point I was making, is they key.

The party has already released a statement that addresses select concerns raised, but is not signed by the new Executive Committee members. As far as I know, they have not met since this story has surfaced.

Rino….I too have spoken to delegates (and other Republican activists) that are saying that they got calls saying specifically that AAA “definately leaked the story” and “shopped it around”.

Given the vitriol that is coming out of Carey supporters, it is no surprise that they chose not to come forward themselves. Not all of them are as foolhardy (?) as I am to take this on head on…..

    6. Michael B. Brodkorb Says:

According to my sources, the state executive committee had a meeting via teleconference on Sunday evening to discuss this issue.

    7. the Lady Logician Says:

Good - hopefully we can get this resolved to everyone’s satisfaction before the meeting on Saturday. This is not a good thing to have hanging over anyone’s head….
