As promised, here are the contacts for the 6 RINOs who voted for $4.18 billion dollars in spending and a slew of tax increases.

    Dennis Ozment (651) 296-4306 rep.dennis.ozment@house.mn (***)

    Bud Heidgerken (651) 296-4317 rep.bud.heidgerken@house.mn

    Dean Urdahl (651) 296-4344 rep.dean.urdahl@house.mn (***)

    Neil Peterson (651) 296-7803 rep.neil.peterson@house.mn

    Ron Erhardt (651) 296-4363 rep.ron.erhardt@house.mn

    Kathy Tingelstad (651) 296-5369 rep.kathy.tingelstad@house.mn

    Jim Abeler (651) 296-1729 rep.jim.abeler@house.mn

Send them a message so they know their tax and spend actions have repercussions and is not the proper behavior of responsible Republicans.

(***) - Rumored to be expected to vote to sustain Pawlenty’s veto, be nice, but firm so they don’t waiver.

To find out just how bad this transportation bill is, just see the MN Senate summary of today’s proceedings.

    Transportation package okayed

Senators used the Mon., May 14, session to approve a compromise transportation funding package.

H.F. 946, carried by Sen. Steve Murphy (DFL-Red Wing), appropriates $4.18 billion in FY 08-09 for transportation projects, including state highways, county highways, local roads and transit systems. The measure also funds transportation operations, including dollars to hire additional State Patrol officers. It includes several revenue raisers, such as a new half-cent sales tax in the Metro Area for transit projects, a five-cent increase in the gas tax and an adjustment to the vehicle registration renewal fee structure for new vehicles.

So as you listen to these 6 RINOs squirm under the pressure to explain the need for so much tax and spending, just ask them why they couldn’t have used the $2.2 billion dollar surplus.

There’s a quote that comes to mind.

After all, why vote for a RINO when there is a real Democrat just down the ballot. Sisyphus Nov. 28, 2006

I sent off emails to Reps. Tinglestad, Peterson and Erhardt a couple of days ago and got the standard “gee we’re just to busy to respond” email. I sent emails to the rest today AND I copied my Rep and Rep. Seifert just to be on the safe side.

Last year, I stopped donating to the House Republican Campaign Committee because I did not want any of my money to go to any GOP incumbent who voted for the Twins Stadium bill or any challenger who may have supported it.

Some may say that this was a case of cutting off your nose to spite your face. But I felt very strongly (and still do) about the issue.

I encourage others out there to withhold contributions to the HRCC. Money talks. It really does. When we start doing this, maybe some of these politicians will start listening…to US!

      Interesting “coincidence:”
Six of these seven legislators voted FOR the statewide smoking ban. Anybody spot a pattern?
