Agenda Journalism 101 - Environutterness

The more I get to see the behind the scenes part of the media, the more biased I think it really is. Whether it be the chit chat at the pre press conferences, to conversations with reporters, these people, some of them, let their own opinions color their coverage. The in latest salvo of agenda journalism from the largest newspaper in Minnesota, the Star Tribune, has they put down the reporting pads, and picked up the megaphone.
Earlier this week, we editorialized about the latest global-warming impact report from the International Panel on Climate Change. The report reflects the consensus view of the world’s most eminent climate scientists.
Sheesh, why don’t they just publish the script from Al Gore’s movie? Wait, don’t give them any ideas.
After subjecting global data from the past 50 years to rigorous analysis, they warned that the first effects of climate change already are being felt, that things inevitably will get worse in the short term and that catastrophic long-term damage can only be avoided if humans act now to minimize their impacts on climate.
Did these scientists bother to compare that to all of history? Did they bother to investigate the other warming periods the Earth has gone through? What’s that? Yes, the Earth has warmed and cooled in the past. I know, that is shocking to hear, given the media campaign to fool people into thinking that Earth has never ever never been this warm before. You should ask yourself why they start only 50 years ago.
Some considerable part of the response to that editorial was, frankly, strange. Cleaned up considerably and summarized, it boils down to this: It’s snowing in April and you claim the climate is warming? Scientists can’t even reliably tell us what the weather will be day after tomorrow. What kind of fools do you think we are? This is just more drivel from liberals who want to control our lives.
Yes, the people who refuse to accept that this is the end of times, or that we must completely abandon all of our industrial accomplishments, and by we, I mean the US, the Strib labels us “strange”. The Strib refuses to even look at the consequences of the goals of the environutters. They simply want the US to pay money to other under or undeveloped nations. (just think about that, let me know if a neuron fires.)
Indeed, global warming’s impact on established weather patterns increases the severity of those variations. But year in and year out, Minnesota will continue to get warmer along with the rest of the world. The human suffering that results will be enormous, especially for the world’s poorest people.
You can go read the rest yourself.
That pretty much exposes the predetermined bias the Strib has. They have received the orders, and they say this is the way it is. There is no room for dissent. There is no room for questions. Now that the global looniness movement has run the gambit of causes for Global cooling warming climate change, they have just claimed they have come to a “consensus”. I remember growing up that it was hairspray that was killing the Earth, my how times have changed.
The carbon credits are a pyramid scheme at best, and a global wealth redistribution plan at worst. The science is not conclusive, and the computers that are running the models that these freaks are relying on, can’t run backwards and even predict the past. They are flawed, and like most computers, work with in the bounds of the programming. Gee, ya think people might be pointing the computer models to come to a ‘certain’ conclusion? This entire global warming hysteria is nothing more than a gigantic wealth redistribution scheme. Oh, and the next incarnation of the anti-capitalist movement.
Just reading this one Strib Editorial, you can see the absolute disregard for real opinion and the exchange of ideas. They instantly poo poo anyone who they disagree with, or rather that disagree with their agenda. Until the newspapers begin to sign the agenda driven editorials so we know who really is writing them, the entire paper and all the reporters will continue to be considered biased and slanted. Until they admit they are liberal activists or that they are pushing an agenda with their opinion pages, the papers’ relevance will continue to decline. They are losing not only credibility, but the trust of readers, IE the populous.
Sooner or later, the center right leaders in this state will realize that they can find alternate delivery vehicles for their message. And surprise, it is the new media. The old media is dead, they killed them selves. The Center right leaders MUST learn that they do not need to play the media games, and that winning the ‘approval’ of the Strib or PiPress’ editors, is in fact a loss for them.

Has anyone else noticed that, whenever these folks trot out the scare stories on the impending doom of the planet, they never ONCE say anything about humankind, let alone CO2, being the cause? They LET you think that, and they say that in other venues, but they never directly LIE about the cause and effect. They propagandize. The fact is, the one piece of scientific evidence that Al Gore has, the ice core sample data, actually PROVES beyond any doubt that he is not only WRONG, but actually BACKWARDS– that CO2 (natural or manmade) does not cause global warming, rather global warming causes increased CO2!
It sounds like we’re going to have some eco-freaks at the Capitol with us tomorrow. Maybe we can have some fun and engage in a “scientific consensus-building.” :->

The human suffering that results will be enormous, especially for the world’s poorest people.
This line is true only they will suffer because the third world will be prevented from developing their economies if the UN and as you put it, the Environutters have their way.
