  • Noteable Quoteables - Sen. Warren Limmer on the Billion Dollar Tax Increase

Posted by Andy on April 2nd, 2007

During the Saturday debate in the Minnesota Senate over the proposed new nighest-in-the-nation tax rate and billion dollar tax increase one Republican Senator pointed out the problem when Government is treated like a Religion.

“This addiction toward spending and throwing money toward every problem that we have simply has to stop,” said Sen. Warren Limmer, R-Maple Grove.

All 22 Republicans in the Senate voted against this oppressive tax hike, and even 7 Democrats knew their own party was overreaching and opposed the bill. The bill did pass 35-29, but is veto-bait at best. Isn’t it about time for Democrats to stop dividing Minnesota with class warfare and get to working on realistic bills that will make Minnesota better, not bluer?
