BREAKING - MNGOP Leadership - Repya is In

Posted by Andy on 28th March 2007

    From the INBOX

    Dear Friends:

Back in November 2006 I was asked to join the John McCain effort as his Chairman for Veterans Outreach. I turned down the position however to tackle a problem closer to home. The secret is out, I’m a candidate for the Chairman of the Minnesota Republican Party on June 9, 2007.

I found upon my return from military service in October 2006 that the GOP in Minnesota had lost its initiative and was in need of new dynamic leadership. Over the last few months I have received nearly 50 calls from GOP faithful to run for the next party chair. The GOP has lost significant ground in state elections in November 2004 and 2006. This trend must stop. So for now GI Joe is becoming GOP Joe. Please help anyway you can. We will get out of the trenches and march to victory together in November 2008.

    Sincerely,

    Joe Repya

MNGOP Leadership - Who I Want

Posted by Andy on 28th March 2007

Remember that guy with the signs? The 50-some year old veteran who organized a grassroots troop support and sign campaign? Sure, I’m sure you saw those Liberate Iraq signs. I’m sure you also know that shortly after that statewide movement, that he re-enlisted and asked to go back to war. The man just can’t sit on the sidelines.

Well, Col. Joe Repya is considering entering another battle. One to save the Republican party of Minnesota. I had a chance to talk with him yesterday, and as he didn’t go so far as to announce, he’s up to something. He would say “people have been asking me to run and I’m close to making a final decision.

Over the last few months, I have gotten to know Repya, and I can tell you he shares the passion that things can be much better.

    Stay tuned….

Coleman Votes for Victory, Against Tying Commanders’ Hands

Posted by Andy on 27th March 2007

Democrats were able to block an amendment today to the Iraq funding bill that would have stripped out the retreat date. By a vote of 50 to 48, Democrats were able to maintain the micromanaging benchmarks and cut and run date in the funding bill.

The amendment defeated today was proposed by Senator Thad Cochran, a Republican, and cosponsored by nearly a dozen others. It contained this language as its mission:

To strike language that would tie the hands of the Commander-in-Chief by imposing an arbitrary timetable for the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq, thereby undermining the position of American Armed Forces and jeopardizing the successful conclusion of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

4 Senators crossed lines on this vote.

Democrats Joe Lieberman (Conn) and Mark Pryor (Ark.) voted with the Republicans and in support of the commanders on the ground.

Republicans Chuck Hagel (Can’t seriously be considering running for President as a Republican still) and Gordon Smith of Oregon voted for defeat and retreat with the pacifist Democrats.

Senator Norm Coleman (R MN) voted with Republicans in support of the military.

Is Ellison as Anti-Semitic as His “Friends”?

Posted by Andy on 27th March 2007

Did Congressman Keith Ellison (D MN5) allow anti-US/Israel protesters the use of his official Congressional office and equipment to lobby him to oppose the Iraq pull out plan last week because it was not anti-war enough.

“We expected Keith Ellison to stand for better alternatives, like an immediate withdrawal of U.S. troops and the withholding of all funds for this unjust and immoral war,” the Anti-War Committee’s Katrina Plotz said in a statement. “His vote to continue the war for 18 months with $123 billion in additional funding is not an anti-war vote.”

Moments before Ellison voted on what the Washington Post described as “one of the toughest antiwar measures ever to pass a house of Congress during active combat operations,” Ellison was being lobbied by his friends.

More than 30 peace activists were in his Minneapolis office Friday, urging Ellison, via conference call, to vote “no” on the bill, which ultimately passed 218-212. Three or four of the “no” votes were from Democrats who thought the bill did not go far enough in calling for an end to the war.

It was during that call that Ellison told the group that he would support the measure. (Source: Strib)

The Anti-War Committee, or Ellison’s friends, are not exactly a group of people I would say is on America’s side.

To this group, Iran is not a threat. Israel is the problem in the Middle East. They think Bush is a criminal. The group also claims that Iraqis were murdered by US troops for protesting what they call the occupation.

Tens of thousands of Iraqis have protested U.S. occupation of Iraq. The US forces have responded by killing and injuring  demonstrators, including children.

If these are his close friends, whom he allows to use taxpayer funded equipment to give him last minute advice on legislation, can we assume he agrees with them on most issues?

Does Ellison agree with them, and is it OK to have such radical anti-American hate-filled people carry out special interest advocacy operations from the office of a Congressman?

Oh, and the group suggests people protest with this cute little chant.

Smash the Pentagon and not Iraq!
What do we do, stand up, fight back!

With “friends” like these, who needs enemies?

    CNN Deserts Decency

Posted by Andy on 27th March 2007

CNN is interviewing US military deserters in Canada, and is allowing them to make accusations that sound like they are right out of the Iranian pollit bureau. They are saying US troops are intentionally killing civilians.

CNN is championing the “war resistors”.

This is why you should never watch CNN.

Oh, now one guy just said the US bombed a school on purpose.

CNN traveled to Nelson BC to find this town full of US deserters.

When Public Union Employees Promise to Break Laws….

Posted by Andy on 27th March 2007

So the rabbid peacenicks who want to upstage the Republicans in St. Paul in 2008 are promising to march whether it is legal or not.

At a March 26 press conference held outside Saint Paul City Hall, protest organizers blasted the city made it clear that they would proceed no matter what.

“Bush is waging a war on the people of Iraq. Saint Paul city government should not stand in the way of those of us who will demonstrate against that war. Permits or not, we will make this clear in the streets of Saint Paul Sept. 1-4, 2008. said Jess Sundin of the Twin Cities-based Anti-War Committee and one of the organizers of the huge demonstrations that will confront the Republican National Conventio

And even the local public employee union is getting on board.

Local organizations that have signed on to the protest include the Anti-War Committee, Iraq Peace Action Coalition, Twin Cities Peace Campaign-Focus on Iraq, Women Against Military Madness, Anti-War Organizing League, the Welfare Rights Committee and AFSCME Local 3800.

I personally have a huge problem with an public employee union promising to break state or local laws and ordinances.

I also have a huge problem with who ever made the decision to let the 2 rabid Liberal anti-Republican mayors have so much control over the RNC event. That was just plain insane. People should also note that these groups are not just protesting the war and Republicans, they are opposed to America in general. If public employee unions are sharing the protest stage with them…… (just saying)

    Tony Snow’s Cancer Spread

Posted by Andy on 27th March 2007

Foxs News just reported that Tony Snow’s cancer has spread to his liver.
That’s terrible news, obviously.  Say a prayer for him and all others suffering from cancer. My Dad died from cancer of the gall bladder, and it affected his liver very negatively. I hope Mr. Snow faces a better fate than my Father did.

Campaign Against the War on the Taxpayer’s Dime, The Soros Kids Demand It

Posted by Andy on 27th March 2007

Brodkorb has a few great posts about how the local George Soros media outlet is up in arms over Rep. John Kline’s upcoming townhall meetings. (1, 2, 3)

The anti-war paid pundits are trying to turn this into a scandal because Kline is not willing to turn this into a campaign style event, when it is intended to be a townhall meeting with constituents.

If you read Minnesota political blogs on a regular basis you should know that Congressman John Kline is having a town hall meeting on April 3, 2007 at Lakeville South High School.

Contrary to inaccurate blog posts, Congressman John Kline is not having a town hall meeting on April 3 only “to discuss the Iraq War” like some liberal blogs have posted. The reality is that Congressman John Kline is having a town hall meeting on April 3 to “hear from the constituents of Minnesota’s Second District on a wide variety of issues.”

What’s the difference? The difference is that certain liberal blogs and political opponents of Congressman Kline want this town hall meeting to be about Iraq and only Iraq. While I’m sure the war in Iraq will be discussed, other issues important to the citizens of Minnesota’s Second District will likely be discussed.

As previously noted, the town hall meeting will be “on a wide variety of issues”, but that hasn’t stopped certain liberal blogs from reporting the town hall meeting is only on Iraq.

Based on my research, the main culprit in posting this inaccurate information is liberal blogger Jeff Fecke.

Go read the rest and see how full of Soros that the paid pundits (or rather attack bloggers) are. Great work by Michael as always in exposing Democrats.

    Get The Resume Ready

Posted by Andy on 27th March 2007

The race for the MN GOP Chairmanship may have just gotten more crowded. Two people are getting ready to provide a suitable alternative to Ron Carey.

On that note, let me remind the Carey loyalists to get in their way back machines, and remember the complaints we had about Ron Eibensteiner. Compare those to the failures by the state party in 2006. Notice anything? Yep, 2006 was far worse than 2004.
