  • What We Need is a GOP Senator with a Spine

Posted by Andy on March 16th, 2007

Honest to gOD, if I see anything else on TV about Anna Nicole or another Republican jump on the Democrat bandwagon to bash AG Gonzalez, I may put my boot somewhere.

What did Gonzalez do wrong? Is it now illegal for the executive to expect certain performance out of their employees? And Attorneys have been fired before, so this is far from new. PiPress

In a conference call with Minnesota reporters, Republican Sen. Norm Coleman said he was not satisfied with explanations about how the dismissals were handled. He stopped short of calling for Gonzales’ resignation, saying, “He’s really got to look in the mirror and figure out if he can clean this up.”

    Clean what up?

Honestly Sen. Coleman, there are plenty of people in Washington trying to make political hay out of this. They’re called Democrats, and their goal is to take down the administration. They haven’t the required trouser attire to impeach Bush, so they will have his administration suffer the death of a thousand cuts. Stop doing the Democrat’s work Norm!

”I do think it’s problematic,” Coleman said. “I do think it is an area of concern when questions arise whether folks are being dismissed because they did or didn’t pursue political cases. That’s the element that is of most concern.”

Its bloody Washington DC. Everything in that city is political.

These crocodile tears being shed for the cameras from podiums and committee desks are completely political. In all due respect, I am ashamed at the behavior of every single member of the US Senate, but I expect Coleman to be better than this.

It concerns me that Congress has now taken up grinding political axes instead of governing? Are committee hearings and investigations where every member of the administration does the perp walk on CSPAN really the most pressing issue of the day? Especially when all it this manufactured outrage is simply being done for political gain?

Bush has every right hire and fire the attorneys. If they were ignoring their duties, then they should be fired. Frankly, Fitzgerald should have his ass canned for complete and utter disregard of his duties in the Libby case. He never actually investigated who leaked the name. We know who it is, but he didn’t care. He wanted to take down Cheney, period.

When will someone investigate that political move from the Department of Justice?

Oh wait, is it now every Senator, Republican and Democrat vs the Bush administration .

Is there any Republican left that willing to fight with the Democrats or are they all going to fight along side of them? I’m looking for one brave Republican with a spine. Just one who is willing to play the political game the Democrats are playing.

Or is the problem that they only have one spine in the Senate, and they have to share it?

I’d love to fightthem, but I’m not an elected official in DC. Seems like the only Republicans with balls are all completely unelectable.
