The American Taxpayer Bill of Rights
The Republican Study Committee unveiled their Taxpayer Bill of Rights.
For those who believe Washington spends too much, we agree. For those who believe Washington still taxes too much, we agree. For those who believe we must balance the budget, cut wasteful Washington spending and provide further, permanent tax relief, we agree. And so we pledge to do it better and get it RIGHT. In an effort to reclaim our roots as the party of fiscal discipline and defender of the American taxpayer, the Republican Study Committee is proud to announce a new Taxpayer Bill of Rights.
1. Taxpayers have a right to have a federal government that does not grow
beyond their ability to pay for it.2. Taxpayers have a right to receive back each dollar that they entrust to the
government for their retirement.3. Taxpayers have a right to expect the government to balance the budget
without having their taxes raised.4. Taxpayers have a right to a simple, fair tax code that they can understand.Â
Congressional Republicans are standing up for American taxpayers to restore restraint to federal taxing and spending. Rep. Michele Bachmann is a member of those standing up for the American taxpayers.

“As a former federal tax attorney, I will continue to be an advocate for
lower taxation and fiscal responsibility,” said Michele Bachmann. “We have
seen our economy grow and produce nearly 7.6 million new jobs since
significant tax relief was passed 42 months ago. I want to make sure we
continue down the path of economic growth, not stifle it by increasing taxes
and wasteful government spending.”
Her lifetime rating of 94 from the Taxpayer’s League of Minnesota is further proof that Bachmann was a champion of the taxpayers as a Minnesota State Senator, and will be as a member of Congress.

I support most of this stuff in theory.
The question is whether this is just another photo-op/campaign brochure bullet point for Michele Bachmann.
When she lists TABOR on her MN Senate resume, it doesn’t mean squat. She declined offers to actually give the bill a hearing.
If you check the RSC link, or do a google search for them, you’ll find that this is a broadly supported national deal for serious fiscal conservatives.
She could be like, oh, say Ramstad who probably would fight against this sort of thing.
