  • Bitter Sweet Iraq Irony for Local MSMers

Posted by Andy on March 10th, 2007

Remember that whole manufactured flap about Congresswoman Michele Bachmann talking about al Qaida in Iraq’s caliphate? You remember, the one where she said that they were trying to set up a training ground for terrorists? Yeah, she called it, The Islamic state of Iraq.

Well, the local MSMers did their darndest to carry the water for the Bachmann stalkers and detractors let alone the DFL, but it seems maybe, they owe Bachmann an apollogy.

US & Iraqi forcs have captured Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, the leader of a group called the Islamic state of Iraq.

After the death of al-Zarqawi in a U.S. raid in June 2006, Abu Hamza al-Muhajer, also known as Abu Ayyub al-Masri, took over as head of al Qaeda in Iraq and leader of the Mujahedeen Shura Council.

The Islamic State of Iraq was formed in October 2006 to replace the council, and all of the group’s members pledged allegiance to al-Baghdadi.

Al-Masri pledged his allegiance to al-Baghdadi, putting his claimed 12,000 al Qaeda in Iraq men at “the service of the Islamic State of Iraq.”

    Well…..
