The DFL’s Congesstion Tax
Posted by Andy on February 28th, 2007
A Tax Increase for Every Occasion, that’s the DFL agenda. Their latest salvo to steal more of your money for their socially engineered utopia is allegedly for transportation, except they have rails (read transit) on their minds.
A half-cent sales tax increase would raise more than $230 million a year for projects in the seven-county metro area alone, at a fraction of the cost of the estimated $700 per driver annual “congestion tax” paid by Twin Citians, proponents said.
The losers should the nanny state social engineers win will be every single commuter. Just what the heck happened with the goll darn MVST amendment funding? Wasn’t that supposed to solve everything?
Why should Twin Citians be forced to pay taxes because the idiots in the legislature can’t spend over $30 billion dollars wisely? Because that’s what the DFLers think citizens are for. They see Minnesotans as funding sources, plain and simple.
The DFL has a transportation plan alright, and they are leaving the roads out of it. They will build Light Rails lines, come hell or high taxes.
