  • Pay attention Black & Strib, Connecting the Dots - Iraq + Iran

Posted by Andy on February 24th, 2007

Our good friends at the Strib, as well as all the Bachmann Derrangement Syndrom suffering folks had better do a bit more research before they lash out.

BAGHDAD, Iraq  –  Thousands of Shiites rallied in the holy city of Najaf on Saturday to protest the nearly 12-hour detention of the eldest son of Iraq’s most influential Shiite politician as he crossed back from Iran.

Why would a son of Iraq’s top Shiite politician need to travel to Iran?

It also highlights the often knotty relationship between U.S. military authorities and Iraq’s leaders, whose ties to neighboring patrons — Syria backing Sunnis, and Iran acting as big brother to majority Shiites — add fuel to sectarian rivalries and bring recriminations from Washington about alleged arms smuggling and outside interference.

Who would stand to benfit most from Iraq’s partition?

In December, American forces seized two Iranian security agents at the elder al-Hakim’s compound in Baghdad. Six other Iranians were arrested Jan. 11 at an Iranian liaison office in northern Iraq.

Would Eric Black and the Strib like to rethink their attack on Congresswoman Bachmann now?

Heck the Iraq Surrender Group did say we should negotiate with Iran…….

Are they denying any Iranian involvement in the struggle in Iraq?

nobody is denying any Iranian involvement in Iraq, but that’s not what Michelle said.

her comments were way out of left field regarding an actual Iranian state within Iraq.

      that’s the difference.

““Iran is the trouble maker, trying to tip over apple carts all over Baghdad right now because they want America to pull out. And do you know why? It’s because they’ve already decided that they’re going to partition Iraq.

And half of Iraq, the western, northern portion of Iraq, is going to be called…. the Iraq State of Islam, something like that. And I’m sorry, I don’t have the official name, but it’s meant to be the training ground for the terrorists. There’s already an agreement made.

They are going to get half of Iraq and that is going to be a terrorist safe haven zone where they can go ahead and bring about more terrorist attacks in the Middle East region and then to come against the United States because we are their avowed enemy.””

i know you’re a MiBach sympathizer, but come on, lose your partisan goggles and realize how crazy of a statement that is for any politician, no matter WHAT political party, to say.

“The Iraq state of Islam” ?

      “or something like that”

aka, she’s talking out her ass

    4. Andy Says:

No Al Qaida in Iraq has stated that they want to create the Iraq state of Islam, check through all my posts on this. Follow the links. A lot of people have been talking like this, some on our (sorry my) side some not.

      heh.

    6. lloydletta Says:

Andy, how come you are defending a statement that Bachmann has retracted?
