Fine Print of Pawlenty Budget Full of ‘Fees’
Well, MPR went over Palwenty’s budget and found all the hidden fees or ‘revenue generators’ that he is using to spend so much.
After rising $3 in the last budget, driver’s license fees would be bumped up another 75 cents to make a standard license cost $22.25. Roughly 1.7 million license and ID cards are issued annually. There’s another 75 cents in added vehicle title fees and $1.75 more to purchase a license plate, except for collector-car versions; they’d jump $15.
It gets worse. Craddle to grave doesn’t even do it justice.
This is not a fiscally conservative budget. There would be no need for all the ‘Fees’ if it wasn’t for the 10% spending increase.
Note: Under a budget proposal, blog readers would be charged a $1.00 ‘Fee’ for every blog they read daily. This would pay for the increased cost of the Governor’s office having to see how pissed off some conservatives are with him. Of course I am kidding about the blog ‘Fee’, but would you be surprised if he increased a ‘Fee’ on something to pay for Government’s monitoring of it?
