Words To Live By
"You're just petty politicians, who'd sooner sign onto the wisdom of a tyrant in another country, than the demands of ticked off voters in your own." (Neil Cavuto June 2008)

“I didn’t question her patriotism. I questioned her judgment.” Mr. Cheney went on: “The point I made and I’ll make it again is that Al Qaeda functions on the basis that they think they can break our will. That’s their fundamental underlying strategy, that if they can kill enough Americans or cause enough havoc, create enough chaos in Iraq, then we’ll quit and go home. And my statement was that if we adopt the Pelosi policy, that then we will validate the strategy of Al Qaeda. I said it, and I meant it.” (Vice President Cheney NYT Feb. 2007)

"A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers. (Ronald Reagan March 1, 1975)

"Oh, no! First of all, if I took one vote away from a serious candidate, it would be a sin." (Al Franken Time Magazine, 9/1/03)

Bachmann Goes Primetime, So What

Yeah, I caught the whole shoulder thing at the end. Sure, I was saying to myself, ‘Take your hand off Michele, Take your hand off Michele, Take your hand off Michele’. But come on, really, don’t you think we could get a little more in depth in reactions to the speech.

How about we focus a story on where Amy Klobuchar was the entire time? She was no where to be found on camera from the glimpses I saw. Is she is still convinced she’ll get ‘conservative cooties’ by touching President Bush. Ewww, Bush germs. How about we get some witty commentary about how SOTH Pelosi was dressed almost exactly like Bachmann and couldn’t stop fussing with her hair? Oh. my. god. They were like totally wearing the same dress I think. How embarrassing.  Oh, does anyone know if Congressman Ellison skipped the speech to go to a big special interest rally or meeting?

Seriously, the lefty trolls are a flutter with this as THE NEXT BIG SCANDAL, but come on and grow up. Hell, it even made Drudge now.

I hope that someone on her DC staff informs Congresswoman Bachmann that the cameras are always rolling, and this is exactly the kind of thing that the media and Democrats salivate over. It has NOTHING to do with the issues, but still is the talk of the town. So, lesson learned for Bachmann and her experienced staff… hopefully.

Can we now get back to how a lot of people, mostly Democrats, in Congress want to lose the war in Iraq?

I didn’t think so.

She was sitting next to Joe Lieberman. Seriously.

At least she didn’t embarass herself. Unlike Rep. Bachmann.

  2. rew says:

yeah, not to harsh your theories and all, but Klobuchar was next to Lieberman, Ellison was right across the aisle from Bachmann and had his hand shaken in the way in, and Pelosi wore a green dress suit while Bachmann was all in white coat and pants.

  3. tom says:

And it’s not so much of a scandal as it is an embarrassment.

  4. coreconservative says:

Is it just me noticing, or was Bachmann occupying the infamous position where crazy Cynthia McKinney used to be at during the previous SOTU’s?

To me, that would be the biggest embarassment. Eee gads!

  5. Eva Young says:

Andy, I believe KSTP is looking for a Republican to comment on the record about Bachmann’s behavior.

  6. Andy says:

What, Eva ‘log cabin Republican’ Young didn’t chime in? Oh, never mind.

I am trying to find out more info, but quite honestly folks, what’s the big deal?

had she been giving the President a bird she’d be a savior, er maverick.

What’s really seems like the underlying angle is that everyone is trying to make a big deal out of a Republican having the audacity to not be running away from Bush. Had I had the same chance as Bachmann to stake out a spot, I would have done the same thing I am sure, minus the kiss.

It is refreshing to see that not all Republicans are weenies, and some of them still support the President.

  7. Eva Young says:

She was acting like a groupie at a Rock concert. It was disgusting. I’ve talked to several republican operatives on background who were disgusted.

  8. Leo Pusateri says:

    Geeze Louise…

They are buds. They spent the day together when Bush stumped for Bachmann on her campaign. They even shared a frozen custard together.

And if you knew Michele, you would know that she’s exactly like that in real life. She’s a hugger.

There are things to have coniptions about.

This is not one of them.

    Get a life, Eva.

  9. wtm says:

This is much ado about nothing and demonstrates the sad yet disturbing level of obsession some have for Bachmann.

  10. Dan says:

That was truly a nothing. I saw it, and not a thought went through my mind, except. Cool. It’s Michelle Bachman getting her first State of the Union Speech in Congress. I’m amazed that such a big deal has been made of this.

Obviously, Bachman has her critics, and they will try to nail her on ANYTHING.
