    Be Afraid, Be VERY Afraid

Posted by Andy on 31st January 2007

The DFL nanny staters are in control.

Hortman says even if every car on the road was burning ethanol, it wouldn’t cut emissions by 30 percent by 2030.

“We need to do some other things. And the biggest thing we need to do is take cars off the road.”

That’s YOUR car Minnesotans! The DFL doesn’t want you to have a car.

So If America Goes To Hell, I Can Just Go North

Posted by Andy on 31st January 2007

Who’d a thunk I’d be more proud of Canada’s leader than my own “America” Republcians on this one?

Prime Minister Stephen Harper once called the Kyoto accord a “socialist scheme” designed to suck money out of rich countries,

Ahhh yes, but here is Minnesota we have 2 US Senators who believe all that green crap science is scripture and that man is ruining Earth. God bless Canada, at least they still elect sane officials from time to time.

    Dear Congressional Republicans…..

Posted by Andy on 31st January 2007

Why are YOU more important than America?

    Dear (fill in the blank),

I just read the Hill story  that some of you in Congress have not yet decided how you will vote on the resolutions before Congress on the troop Surge. I want to tell you that I will be very disappointed if you vote for anything that will be sending a sign of weakness to our enemy. These resolutions are incredibly dangerous because they will be emboldening our enemy by questioning the Commander in Chiefs’ authority and his plan for victory. But there is far more to them as well.

It is really quite simple when you take politics out of the equation. If Congress votes to say that the President or Iraqi Government have to do A, B, & C or else, the enemy in Iraq will focus on stopping A, B, & C at all costs. When we change it to X, Y, & Z, they will adjust their tactics as well. That is how they know they can stop us from being successful. Victory is not their goal, our defeat is. We need convince them that we are not preparing our departure, and that we are serious in dealing with this threat to freedom and our way of life.

I am terrified that I have the feeling that many members of Congress share the very same sentiment our enemy does. That is, they don’t want us to win either.

The enemy in Iraq cannot defeat the US Militarily or in a head to head fight, but they can politically. We are winning the war militarily in Iraq where ever we fight it, our enemy is winning the war politically in the United States and in our Congress. We have lost the will to fight right here on our own shores. Democrats have utilized the hardships in Iraq to raise doubt with the American public, which is exactly what the enemy wants, and never forget the Democrats only waited 72 hours before they started calling it a quagmire. There is no common ground that can be found with Democrats that will result in victory, and what else really matters?

I implore you to oppose any and all resolutions that will be anything less than full support for the Commander in Chief, the Commanders on the ground in Iraq, and the US being victorious in Iraq. I would encourage you to take the lead in challenging your wavering Republican colleges and Democrats that if they truly oppose this plan by the President and Gen. Petraeus to increase troop levels, take the fight to the enemy, and secure our chance for victory, that they should offer an alternate plan or do what Congress’ only real Constitutional power over the military is and cut off funding for the war.

I am terribly worried that there is no one in the halls of Congress who is willing to stand up for the United States being victorious in Iraq anymore. I am watching good Republicans waffle under electoral pressure to support these non-binding resolutions so they can say they are both for ad against the war depending on the crowd or polls results for that day, while they are out on their impending campaign trails.

Well, the US is at a fork in the road in the war on terror. Either we win or we lose. What I am seeing the Commander in Chief and his Generals propose is a plan to get us closer to victory. What I am seeing from Congress is nothing more than defeatism, political self-preservation, and un-inspiring hopelessness.

I strongly insist that you oppose the resolutions that will weaken our military leadership in the eyes of our enemy, and oppose these pseudo votes of no confidence that are floating around Congress.

Please challenge the political naysayers to put up or shut up. Challenge them to use the only true power or over sight that they have Constitutionally, which is the power of the purse. Challenge them to bring the Commander in Chief in for investigations or impeachment.

But please do not play this power grab game that your colleagues are involved in. We have one Commander in Chief for a reason. We cannot defend this country by committee.

    Sincerely,
    Andy A. Aplikowski

    Senatitis Turning into Plague

    Peterson Grounded by SOTH Pelosi

Posted by Andy on 31st January 2007

DFL Rep. Colin Peterson (MN-7) seems to be a little frustrated with SOTH Pelosi because she grounded him.

A House prohibition against taking trips on corporate jets, approved this month, has turned into a headache for some lawmakers. The rule forbids House members from boarding any “non-governmental airplane that is not licensed by the Federal Aviation Administration to operate for compensation or hire, unless they are traveling to a fund-raising event.

Most private planes aren’t licensed that way. That means that the dozen or so House members who are pilots would violate the rule by flying their own aircraft. Rep. Dennis Rehberg, a Republican from Montana, however, is free to continue flying. He flies a rented Sikorsky helicopter. The ban applies only to “fixed-wing” aircraft.

So if a Congressman owns their own plane, they can’t fly it.

The rule “was written by people who don’t know the difference between private planes and corporate planes,” says Rep. Collin Peterson, a Democrat from Minnesota, who has stopped flying his own four-seat propeller plane across his 400-mile-long district.

DFLer Peterson was a good Democrat though and voted for this bill as did everyone, because this was one of the first 6 “100 hours” bills that Pelosi rammed through with no committee hearings or Republican input. It was take it or leave it, whether you like it or not. Now in order to have common sense in the laws, members of Congress now have to go back and fix their own mistake.

You do notice of course that Pelosi made sure you could still fundraise though. Tell me again how that  is going to change anything? Buying votes isn’t just done through official junkets. The special interest groups will now just dump even more money into members of Congress’ campaign coffers. In fact that will be much more effective in influencing who votes and what way they do.

Just like john McCain’s Finance laws actually made campaign financing worse, Pelosi has now funneled corruption to campaigns. Way to clean up Congress Nancy.

From the INBOX - World History - As it Really Happened

Posted by Andy on 30th January 2007

Some of you may enjoy this. Others will flip out and call me names.

World History - As it Really Happened

Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic
hunters/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer
and would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the winter.

The two most important events in all history were the invention of beer and
the invention of the wheel. The wheel was invented to get man to the beer.
These were the foundation of modern civilization and together were the
catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups:
    Liberals and Conservatives.

Once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was the beginning of
agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet,
so while our early human were sitting around waiting for them to be invented,
they just stayed close to the brewery. That’s how villages were formed.

Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to B-B-Q at night
while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as
    the Conservative movement.

Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting learned to live off
the conservatives by showing up for the nightly B-B-Q’s and doing the
sewing, fetching and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal
movement. Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women. The rest
    became known as girliemen.

Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the domestication of cats, the
invention of group therapy and group hugs and the concept of Democratic
voting to decide how to divide the meat and beer that conservatives
    provided.

Over the years conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most
powerful land animal on earth, the elephant. Liberals are symbolized by the
    jackass.

Modern liberals like imported beer (with lime added), but most prefer white
wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish but like their beef well
done. Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard liberal fare.

Another interesting revolutionary side note: most of their women have
higher testosterone levels than their men. Most social workers, personal injury
attorneys, journalists, home interior designers, dreamers in Hollywood and
group therapists are liberals. Liberals invented the designated hitter rule
because it wasn’t fair to make the pitcher also bat.

Conservatives drink domestic beer. They eat red meat and still provide for
their women. Conservatives are big-game hunters, rodeo cowboys,
lumberjacks, construction workers, firemen, medical doctors, police officers, corporate
executives, athletes, Marines, and generally anyone who works productively.
Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives who want to
    actually work for a living.

Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to govern the producers and
decide what to do with the production. Liberals believe Europeans are more
enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the liberals remained in
Europe when conservatives were coming to America . They crept in after the
Wild West was tamed and created a business of trying to get MORE for
    nothing.

Strategic Cut & Run, House GOP Style

Posted by Andy on 30th January 2007

Ah, so let’s take a surrender plan, slap some new coversheets on it, and call it a ‘Strategic Benchmarks’ Strategy.
Ladies and gentleman, that is your Republican leadership in the United States House of Representatives.
