Saddam meet the Devil, Devil meet Saddam
Posted by Andy on December 29th, 2006
Taking a real quick moment from my night of hanging out with my two nephews to remind you that had Senator Amy Klobuchar had her way, Saddam Hussein would not only still be breathing, but he’d still be in power.
He’d also still be a free man not having faced justice for the brutal mass murder of countless Iraqi citizens.
“She opposed this war from the beginning.”
Justice does not always have to please or appease everyone, thank god it didn’t listen to the anti-war Democrats like Amy Klobuchar.
PS: What Will CAIR Do? YOu too Congressman Ellison. Your response?

I don’t understand, what has Congressman Ellison to do with Saddam? Can you explain? Aren’t you the one who bitched out the GOP for going after Ellison’s religion instead of exposing him for his ultra-liberal agenda?
Again, can you explain what does Congressman Ellison has to do with Saddam?

don’t you get it DJZ? Sadaam = Muslim, Ellison = Muslam, and we all know that all Muslims are terrorists and wife beaters…
Andy, if i pay for you to take a theology course at a local Juco, will you please take it? Oh wait, all colleges are run by uber-liberals with an agenda.
But seriously, It wouldn’t hurt for you to learn a bit more about Islam, even though i don’t think it’d change your thickheaded views on the religion.

Also, had Bush Sr done a much better job with the first Gulf War, Sadaam should have been out of power 15 years ago and a lot less Iraqi’s would have died (both by Sadaam and the US Militaries hand). I actually fully supported that war, and had many friends who fought in it.

it’s rare when i agree w/ Bill O’Reilly of all people, but among the other talking heads, he’s one who at least thinks for himself and allows his mind to change.

You had me right up to Bill O’Reilly.
That man lies every single night on his show. MediaMatters.com has made a killing off of him. He lies so much that his lies sometimes contradict his previous lies.
What did he claim he won, a couple of Peabody Awards?

hey, i didn’t say i don’t despise the guy or that he doesn’t lie through his teeth, but unlike many of the right wing pundits, he’s able to admit when he’s wrong and often changes his stance/opinions on things. i’ve enjoyed hearing him rip on Bush over the last 2 years on occasion, it shows that he at least thinks about things, even if he is just in it to make money (like most right wing pundits)

Anybody know what Ellison has to do with Saddam and why they’re mentioned together? I guess Andy won’t answer that one.

As the “first muslim in congress” and a person who has opposed this war from day one and anted us to retreat immediately, I think it would be good to know what this now policy maker has to say about his death. He has, after all, decided it is his place to lead Muslims in ‘educating us Americans about justice’.

Alright Andy! When do you sign up! We got rid of this dictator and at 3000 dead/dictator, we’re going to need a lot more brave men and women like you to go marching from the Sea of Japan to the Mahgreb.

That didn’t take long. Are you out of talking points already?
January 2nd, 2007 at 9:24 am
No, I’m just tired of some armchair cowboy like you tut-tutting like the entire world is ripe for regieme change, when it’s people like me who have to go do it.

If it makes you feel any better, the Marines rejected me due to height to weight ratios.
And I am not giving any orders, just speaking my mind, like I am allowed to in this country. Like it or not, we both have a right to speak here, thanks to what our brave men and women in uniform.
I believe very strongly that our forefathers knew what they were doing when they gave us civilian control of our military. Sometimes tough decisions need to be made for the good of the country. Looking at the way Murtha flinches at every military action is proof that he can’t make the tough decisions. Remember he was advising Clinton during the 93 Mogudeshu blunder. hmmm, what country is dealing with Islamists al Queda types right now? Who were we fighting in 93?
If you are implying that you serve, I thank you.
January 2nd, 2007 at 1:31 pm
So Sean when did you serve? What unit are you in?
January 2nd, 2007 at 3:56 pm
USMC 1/9 “The Walking Dead” (under a different President Bush). His economy sucked too and many college age kids and grads were signing up.
Andy, there are short Marines. There are also short sailors, soldiers and airmen (maybe not airmen). But, at a time when Reserves and Gaurdsmen are seeing combat, you have your choice. Also, they are taking new recruits up to age forty. You agree with this war and think its still the right thing. Our Commander in Cheif agrees with you. Since you won’t be in Congress anytime soon (to actually cast a vote that matters- or fund the war), your ‘civilian’ status is doing nothing for the mission you support. You and your buddies still got time to sign up and grab a rifle and protect us.
You know in England the heirs to the crown themselves are itching for combat and are in the military. If Prince Harry can go why can’t you? Hell, if the Royals can serve (many more in their extended family) why can’t our elected officials with military age children allow the same sacrifice? Forget it, this conversation is going to dive into my raw dislike for W. He ran, when he could have served. I don’t care what Kerry, Gore or Clinton did. Bush got a fucking pass.
Andy, the Minnesota Gaurd can use you.

Flat feet is one possibility DJ. My father volunteered for Korea. He was turned down because of his flat feet.
“Andy, the Minnesota Gaurd can use you. ”
Are you saying you know better than the recruiters that turned him down in the first place?????
Thanks for your service DJ. I’m waiting for Sean’s answer.

Hell no I don’t know better than the recruiters. And while I’m at it, let me say that if Andy went right after he left college he would have found some criteria requirements that seem to have disappeared now (including a high school diploma. GED’s are welcome again). Our Gaurds and Reserves are having a tough time recruiting now, that I know. I also know from those who are serving right now that they can use some recruits.
Give it a shot, what has he got to loose?
Your dad wouldn’t have been turned down if there wasn’t a draft.

Let me say that enlisting now is really a brave thing to do(during any war). When I went in, we had the buddy system(go in with your friends and actually stay together), choice of jobs and no war at first. The Gulf War was over before anyone could scream “just like Vietnam!” and I woke up to “we didn’t start the fire” by Billy Joel every damn morning. It was like an extension of college.
January 2nd, 2007 at 10:45 pm
Well, the reason I ask DJ is that you keep insisting that AAA should enlist when he has already told us that the recruiters rejected him.
Speaking of short tours - my DH was in during Grenada!
