Funny Bone at the PiPress
Sphere: Related ContentWe have new intelligence regarding Gov. Tim Pawlenty’s overture to Democrats on health care, in which he seems to be embracing a more liberal approach. We are told that he suffered no injuries while flip-flopping on conservative principles. Practice enabled the governor, who does his own stunts, to execute the maneuver without difficulty.
We are waiting to see if liberal Democrats can match him as they seek to portray themselves as centrists. The concern is that they might tear their anterior compassionate muscles if they contort themselves into an anti-tax, pro-gun position.

I received a fundraising call from Pawlenty’s office yesterday. The poor guy on the other end. I asked him to tell his supervisor that I will not give a dime until Pawlenty promises to veto any form of government controlled or government mandated health care and any other spending increases. The caller did a good job trying to get back on script, but I think the message got through. I’m guessing he was getting that kind of reception pretty often.
Even talking about considering the idea of gov’t health care is dangerous. It gives legitimacy to an idea which should have none.

He’s already fundraising?
Good lord, he is going to fill out the McPlenty ticket after all. Not to mention suck up more valuable funds that a US Senate candidate will need in order to fight off the biased press, DFL attacks, and litany of liberal 527 smears.

The way it was worded was replenishing the coffers after the campaign spending. In a way it makes sense. He may be able to get funds that some other candidate or organization can’t. Campaigns can be closed and rolled to others or to the party (I’m not sure all the rules). It depends on how the money will be used. If used for McPlenty, then yes it is a waste. If used to re-load in a race elsewhere it could be of value. Bottom line is that unless the state party and the gov start acting like conservatives they are going to have a tough time raising money, regardless.

No, science tells me that human life begins at conception. That would be a 2nd body. The imposition on the civil liberties of the woman (and I will admit my stance is an imposition on her civil liberties) is not nearly so great as the imposition on the civil liberties of the human within.

that 2nd body cannot live without the mother however…
so in your mind, a child is more important than it’s mother? that’s basically what you stated with your last comment?
