In a way it makes sense. He may be able to get funds that some other candidate or organization can't. Campaigns can be closed and rolled to others or to the party (I'm not sure all the rules). It depends on how the money will be used. If used for McPlenty, then yes it is a waste. If used to re-load in a race elsewhere it could be of value. Bottom line is that unless the state party and the gov start acting like conservatives they are going to have a tough time raising money, regardless. The poor guy on the other end. I asked him to tell his supervisor that I will not give a dime until Pawlenty promises to veto any form of government controlled or government mandated health care and any other spending increases. The caller did a good job trying to get back on script, but I think the message got through. I'm guessing he was getting that kind of reception pretty often. Even talking about considering the idea of gov't health care is dangerous. It gives legitimacy to an idea which should have none. Keep your laws off my body.
