The Beginning of the End
Well, that didn’t take long. The Democrats are getting ready to pull out of Iraq and let the terrorists win.
WASHINGTON, Nov. 12 — Democratic leaders in the Senate vowed on Sunday to use their new Congressional majority to press for troop reductions in Iraq within a matter of months, stepping up pressure on the administration just as President Bush is to be interviewed by a bipartisan panel examining future strategy for the war.
The Democrats — the incoming majority leader, Senator Harry Reid of Nevada; the incoming Armed Services Committee chairman, Senator Carl Levin of Michigan; and the incoming Foreign Relations Committee chairman, Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr. of Delaware — said a phased redeployment of troops would be their top priority when the new Congress convenes in January, even before an investigation of the conduct of the war.
“We need to begin a phased redeployment of forces from Iraq in four to six months,†Mr. Levin said in an appearance on the ABC News program “This Week.†In a telephone interview later, Mr. Levin added, “The point of this is to signal to the Iraqis that the open-ended commitment is over and that they are going to have to solve their own problems.â€
These SOB’s don’t even care to send a message to our enemy that we are willing to win. The cut and run Democrats are going to embolden our enemy and get more people killed. They’ll become stronger and try to take over other places. You can kiss peace in the middle east good bye. It will become the most violent place in the world. Oh, and you can kiss Israel good bye too.
I wonder if our peacenik new Senator Klobuchar will ask tough questions of her Democratic party’s leaders. Since they scripted her entire campaign, I kinda doubt she’s going to give a rip about us leaving Iraq before the job is done. She has no desire to defeat America’s enemies in Iraq. America lost its will to defend herself thanks to the administration’s bungling of making sure Americans didn’t lose sight of our enemy there. The Democrats convinced people, falsely, that we do’t have to be in Iraq, even though they all know that we are fighting al Queda and the terrorist sponsoring nations from around the world. They’ve successfully fooled Americans into believing that peace just happens. It doesn’t. You have to fight for it. Evil doesn’t just go away. It will now have unfettered access to the rich resources of Iraq. Oh and 26 million people will have their 4 year journey towards democracy ended when the last American soldier is redeployed from Iraq.
I think they have just answered my question from the other day. They will definitely get us killed before they tax us to death. That’s right Democrats, you have just waived the white flag in the battle for America’s security.
LOL. You people just don’t get it, do you? Iraq is lost. It wasn’t a terrorist haven before Prince George invaded, but now it is, yet our continued presence only makes things worse. You can say we should continue to ride the tiger, but the end result is the same — Bush picked a war we can’t win under any definition of “winnable”, and so now the only thing we have control over is the timing and exact manner of our humiliation. And as for “we’re fighting them over there so we don’t have to fight them over here” — you’re an idiot.
