    Social Security Insanity Syndrome

Posted by Andy on 25th September 2006

    Honest question:

How can current social security benefits ‘belong’ to the retired, but taxes being collected currently not be ‘belong’ to those paying it in?

Welcome to the Blog Mart, Again

Posted by Andy on 25th September 2006

I’ve made the Blog Mart again.

The extremely nasty tone of the rhetoric in the blogosphere was set early by Andy Aplikowski of the Mark Kennedy propaganda blog Kennedy vs. the Machine (1): “Obveeuslee, somewon hoo wood hire goons too attak here own employees is not fit to sit inn teh Senit. Shee shood go too jail!” The obviously delusional Aplikowski

I gotta get Joe Tucci to /whack/ that guy.

    Recovering from Fever induced Coma

Posted by Andy on 25th September 2006

I came down with a bug over the weekend. Slept all day yesterday, minus a few quarters of watching the pathetic Vikings. You know, all of you people who say they played well must have been watching a different game. They suck.

Sure the defense is OK, but our offense couldn’t score on the little sisters of the poor.

I have a crazy day today. Gotta take grandma to the Doctor (she’s doing really well BTW).

My truck is on the fritz again. I’m taking it in after the doctor appointment. I may have to bight the bullet and trade her in.

Closed Circuit to RF One: Do you hear that? Stop acting like a Ford, or I will trade you in!

Oh dear lord I must not be feeling well. I just blogged a warning to my truck.

Sgt. Paul Smith (also see True American Hero)

Posted by Andy on 23rd September 2006

A few of us bloggers have undertaken honoring one of America’s finest, Sgt. Paul Smith who died in Iraq saving the lives of his fellow soldiers. He’d have been 38 today, September 24th. Back in April of last year upon hearing about how he saved the lives of 100 or more of his fellow soldiers and gave his life for them I wrote about Sgt. Smith. We’re doing this because of the last paragraph in this story.

    PaulSmithHonor.jpg

Here are other MOB blogs posting on this. (I will update as they post)
    Freedom Dogs
    Scholar’s Notebook (Sidebar)
    Captain Ed
    The Attic
    Mitch
    Swiftee

I would encourage everyone to go take a look at the Army’s website dedicated to this true American hero. It includes a flash movie that takes you through the heroic events of Sgt. Smith.
    The Citation

The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, March 3, 1863, has awarded in the name of Congress the Medal of Honor to

Sergeant First Class Paul R. Smith
    United States Army

For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty:

Sergeant First Class Paul R. Smith distinguished himself by acts of gallantry and intrepidity above and beyond the call of duty in action with an armed enemy near Baghdad International Airport, Baghdad, Iraq on 4 April 2003. On that day, Sergeant First Class Smith was engaged in the construction of a prisoner of war holding area when his Task Force was violently attacked by a company-sized enemy force. Realizing the vulnerability of over 100 fellow soldiers, Sergeant First Class Smith quickly organized a hasty defense consisting of two platoons of soldiers, one Bradley Fighting Vehicle and three armored personnel carriers. As the fight developed, Sergeant First Class Smith braved hostile enemy fire to personally engage the enemy with hand grenades and anti-tank weapons, and organized the evacuation of three wounded soldiers from an armored personnel carrier struck by a rocket propelled grenade and a 60mm mortar round. Fearing the enemy would overrun their defenses, Sergeant First Class Smith moved under withering enemy fire to man a .50 caliber machine gun mounted on a damaged armored personnel carrier. In total disregard for his own life, he maintained his exposed position in order to engage the attacking enemy force. During this action, he was mortally wounded. His courageous actions helped defeat the enemy attack, and resulted in as many as 50 enemy soldiers killed, while allowing the safe withdrawal of numerous wounded soldiers. Sergeant First Class Smith’s extraordinary heroism and uncommon valor are in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflect great credit upon himself, the Third Infantry Division “Rock of the Marne,” and the United States Army.

God Bless men and women like Sgt. Smith.

    Bin Laden May Be Toast

Posted by Andy on 23rd September 2006

Now we don’t know if it is true, but some people are reporting that Osama bin laden may have died of Typhoid in Pakistan.

Some people think it sucks because we didn’t get to kill him. I disagree. Nothing would be more trouble for the Pakastano government, or any of the other US friendly governments in the region if we had killed OBL in their countries. They too would be facing the jihad crap from the terrorist friendly states like Iraq is.

If the report is true, and OBL did die of typhoid thi is a major achievement of the Bush doctrine. This would mean that the other nations who are helping the US track and hunt down terrorists are still on board. If OBL did die in Pakistan, then it is even a bigger achievement.

If OBL died of typhoid it means he wasn’t living in the comfort of a base or stronghold of al Queda, but rather in some really less than secure conditions. He was in hiding, not leading his terror network. He was being forced to live in darkness. He was forced to hide in the darkest regions, which, if they did not have clean water, also did not have good contact to the outside world.

Dead or alive before this, it is proof that the head of al Queda was not at the helm.

Oh, If Only They Cared This Much About Our Real Enemy

Posted by Andy on 23rd September 2006

Watching the digital army of the left operate they way they have to defend Amy Klobuhcar over Klobo-Gate, I have to say I wish these liberals cared as much about fighting terrorist as intensively as they do defeating Mark Kennedy.

Oh, if only they could hate America’s enemies as much as they do Mark Kennedy and the Republicans.

A Sidewalk Can Teach You a lot About Life

Posted by Andy on 22nd September 2006

Uncle Ben, who happened to win at Keegan’s trivia with last noght learned something today on a sidewalk.

So I was walking to the bus stop after work today when I saw a woman with an orange security blazer outside the abortion clinic. A wave of sadness came over me as I realized that a baby was going to be killed today. The lady with the literature was ten yards down the sidewalk, faint tears still on the inside of her eyes. I shook my head and she nodded in acknowledgment. Both of us knew and felt something so horribly wrong. We kill our own. For whatever the reason, we kill our own.

Great post Ben. FOr those of you who don’t read Ben often, really should.

    Strongbad like email response

Posted by Andy on 22nd September 2006

Time for another strongbad email kind of thingy.

    Ok so here we go.

    Hey AAA, Joe Tucci here.

Could you remove that Howard Dean sound file? it’s f-ing annoying.

    Thanks,
    Joe Tucci

    Dear Joe Tucci,

BTW: Love the whole /whack/ thing. Keep up the good work. There are quite a few lefty pricks I’d love to see on a paintball course not wearing a nutcup. You know, on second thought, since their all a bunch of weinie girly boys, that probably wouldn’t have the desired effect.

    So anyways, about your email.

Oh come on. The liberals nutbags (hmmm, didn’t I just call them nutless? Oh well.) in Minnesota who still polish that Wellstone yard sign every month even though the guy died like 4 years ago, are probably just letting the Dean yeeeooooaaaahhhhhh play over and over in the government offices all day. Hell I put that audio on loop just for them. Sorry that you don’t like it.

You know Joe, some of the Deaniacs are probably even tearing up when they hear that, and thinking, you know, they’d be all like: “If they had just worked a little harder. If they had just emailed a few more people. If they had just found a few more people who have the passion for a crazy man. He’d have been so much better than that John Kerry.”

    kerryNASA.jpg

So anyways, to answer your question Joe, yes I can turn off the Dean Sound file. The question you should have asked, is will I? Well OK, maybe you did. I don’t really do the whole spelling and grammar thing. OK OK. Fine Fine. I will take it off the loop.

    So anyways. Gotta run.

    AAA

    Keep up the good /whacking/

Oooooo! So You’re a Tough Guy, Eh?

Posted by Joe Tucci on 22nd September 2006

    Joe Tucci here…

I just saw this comment in a thread at MDE:

    Michael–

Tread lightly, mister. If you want to dance, we’ll dance, but if you’re seriously trying to say Patrick is being “unethical” by pursuing a story…well, you’re going to be opening yourself up to a world of hurt.

After all, wasn’t it you, just the other day, who told us “nimrods” that the problem with Klobuchar was “hypocricy?”

     Comment by Jeff Fecke — September 22, 2006 @ 2:40 pm

Looks like someone wants to throw down on MDE.  I bet he’s shaking in his boots.

I have some friendly advice to MDE if he gets into it with this fanook:

Use a .22: it’s very bad form to punch a woman.

CLARIFICATION: Of course, Joe Tucci would never advocate for an unsanctioned hit.  I would encourage MDE - were he forced to defend himself against this obviously deranged chick - to aim for the kneecaps.
