Democrats have unveiled their grand plan for retaking Congress in November.
“Every time gas prices go up, Bush’s approval ratings go down,” Semiatin said. “Every time prices recede, Bush’s ratings go up a little. If gas prices remain high, I think it could be a very difficult fall for Republicans.”
Brilliant!

Hello Neighbor! I want to introduce myself as a candidate for State Senate from our district. I’ve lived here in Plymouth since 2003. My wife Lynn and I have three wonderful children. I am a small business owner, working in the adrevtising industry. Being a small business owner, I know what it takes to be fiscally responible and how to accomplish goals.

In Becky Lourey’s Minnesota, top earners would pay more in income taxes and owners of gas-guzzling cars would feel the pinch of a higher gas tax and a new “carbon tax” based on their vehicle’s mile-per-gallon rating.
The good thing, there are enough DFLers who live and breath this crap, that Hatch is going to have to acknowledge this rhetoric in the primary battle he is facing.
The bad thing, there are DFLers who actually live and breath this crap.
You cannot tax your way to prosperity.

HARASSING OR POLICING?
Respect all people
Someone needs to hold Minneapolis police accountable for publicly harassing the dancers in downtown Minneapolis (Star Tribune, July 25).
Will there ever be a time when the police are policed themselves? Where is their apology? Why do they continually spend time harassing people simply because they are different?

I just got word that Collin Peterson (inc DFL MN 7) will be ducking a Fergus Falls Chamber of Commerce debate. According to sources, Peterson’s office called to inform the chamber that he would be unavailable to make it.
The chamber informed Peterson’s office that the debate would go ahead with out him, and that it had been moved to a larger venue due to large public interest.
The debate is scheduled for August 10 in Fergus Falls’ Community College Auditorium.
Ken Lucier of the Constitution Party, Erik Thompson (DFL primary challenger) and Mike Barrett of the GOP are scheduled to attend.
The emailer pointed out that this is rather odd from Peterson as Ottertail County is the most populous County in the District, and also has the highest voter totals in most elections.
