Words To Live By
"You're just petty politicians, who'd sooner sign onto the wisdom of a tyrant in another country, than the demands of ticked off voters in your own." (Neil Cavuto June 2008)

“I didn’t question her patriotism. I questioned her judgment.” Mr. Cheney went on: “The point I made and I’ll make it again is that Al Qaeda functions on the basis that they think they can break our will. That’s their fundamental underlying strategy, that if they can kill enough Americans or cause enough havoc, create enough chaos in Iraq, then we’ll quit and go home. And my statement was that if we adopt the Pelosi policy, that then we will validate the strategy of Al Qaeda. I said it, and I meant it.” (Vice President Cheney NYT Feb. 2007)

"A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers. (Ronald Reagan March 1, 1975)

"Oh, no! First of all, if I took one vote away from a serious candidate, it would be a sin." (Al Franken Time Magazine, 9/1/03)

LTE – Blogs as a Source?

So the Strib ain’t liberal enough?

Blogs leading the blind

A candidate’s late pattern of filing reports on campaign contributions is far less important than who is contributing to that campaign and for what purpose. Why isn’t that published?

Is it because the Republican blogs, from which the paper now gets its political reporting, will never supply the Star Tribune with those stories?

And what about the fact that there are, oh I don’t know, a ton of web sites that allow you to search who finances which campaigns — Opensecrets, Moneyline, the MN CFB, etc.

If this guy is so concerned about the issue, he can do something by taking the initiative himself (as MDE and Powerline have done re: Ellison) and conduct searches.

  2. Andy says:

No no no, that is what the Star Tribune is supposed to do. Jeez, they are supposed to be the mouthpiece for the left, not the center right bloggers.

  3. wtm says:

Not to take anything away from MDE or Powerline, but the unwillingness or inability (or both) of the local media to ferret this stuff out themselves demonstrates how lazy, inept, and/or partial they are.

If you do a google search of “Paul Rozycki” and “DFL”, you come up with this website:

    http://www.scc.net/~t-bonham/MPLSCC1A.TXT

which indicates that a Paul Rozycki is a member of the Minneapolis DFL Central Committee.

So consider the source of the complaints in this letter.
