Derek seems to feel the same way I do about this mornings Patriot Insider on AM1280. They had Tim O’brien on who runs the bloghouse at the Strib.
Sweet suffering crap! I can’t take another week of the new lefty Saturday mornings on 1280 AM. Listening to Tim OBrien (The Strib’s Bloghouse columnist) wax on endlessly about Eva Young with worse radio chops than Al Franken is like nails on a chalkboard. Please, please, please Mitch Berg, call in as Miguel and slap this clown around. I’ve had about all I can take from a guy who is 5 years behind the curve telling us how fascinating blogs are and how MN is behind the curve.
Mark Yost, I don’t care if you have to do this show from a cel phone under water. It has got to be better than this. I’ll even take 2 hours of the nihilist reviewing the 11 best movies about used cars.
I have yard work to do, but I will be posting my thoughts on the show later today. I can tell you it was very very bad for the Strib’s credibility to let OBrien be on air.

Please listen to this while you read.
Memorial Day 2006. (Reposted from 2005, because I could.)
It has been a long year. We have lost many good men and women. Their sacrifice is not the first. It will not be the last. But their sacrifices must never be tarnished by the politics here stateside. We must always weep with the families. Hold them, look them in the eyes and tell them their loved ones fought bravely and died for a good cause.
Many have sullied the sacrifices of the soldiers in the War on Terror for their own gains. In America that is their right, short of treason. But we can never let the voices of doubt and division be the loudest. We can never allow those voices to be heard loud and clear on the battlefields across the globe. We must show the same support and allegance that those brave souls, worlds away show us.
On July 4, 1776 America started on a long journey towards freedom. That was the day that The Declaration of Independance was signed.
This is an exerpt that has to be repeated.
But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.
It is our duty to help them throw off such Government.
Since America is the most powerful nation in the World, it has certain responsibilities that other nations do not. We have massed a military force, one like no other has existed before. But our force is not the oppressive force like so many have been over the years. Ours is fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, and friends. They do not serve to conquer. They do so out of duty. They stand guard not only for their fellow Americans, but for all endangered people around the world.
I believe that God gave America the brave soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines, not only for our protection, but for the protection of all those who cannot protect themselves. And as it is written in our Declaration of Independance, it is our duty to stand up for them.
God Bless,
Triple_a

Someone thought I had better put up a link to the poll for the hottest woman in politics, so here it is.
Which of the following is the hottest woman in US politics?
Not to take anything away from the list assembled, but there are many more babes than that in US politics. Some of which are right here in Minnesota, but others happen to be working with/for Mr-Falls-down-a-lot. They may not be elected officials, but they are in politics.

Sphere: Related ContentWe can talk politics, but the first order of business will be to discuss whether the new F-150 can actually pull a bulldozer. I heard that on the radio the other day and it just seems like you’d need at least an F-250 to handle that.

The person taken out on a stretcher was a Rep. Jack Kingston staffer. She was not shot or injured. How do I know? His staff blogged it.
WASHINGTON—The following statement can be attributed to David All, spokesman for U.S. Rep. Jack Kingston, R-GA, regarding a member of Congressman Kingston’s staff taken to the hospital during Rayburn lockdown:
“This morning, a member of Congressman Kingston’s staff was in the House Staff Gym when the Rayburn House Office Building was put under lockdown due to alleged gun shots. Under guidance of law enforcement officials, the staffer was taken via ambulance to the hospital. She was not injured or shot, just a little shaken up under the circumstances.
“We have been in contact with our colleague and she is doing well.
Blogs once again prove their superiority when it comes to getting information out.
