WASHINGTON (AP) - The fallout from the killing of as many as two dozen Iraqi civilians by Marines could undermine U.S. efforts in Iraq more than the Abu Ghraib prison scandal did, a lawmaker who is a prominent war critic said Sunday.
Let’s not forget that just last week it was Murtha who prejudged the Marines involved in the incident. It was Murtha who convicted the men even before a court martial was called.
“Who covered it up, why did they cover it up, why did they wait so long?” Murtha said on “This Week” on ABC. “We don’t know how far it goes. It goes right up the chain of command.”
Get ready for an all out media assault on Bush and the Pentagon this week. They are salivating over the chances of impeaching Bush, and this is exactly the kind of political ammunition to get it done. As far Murtha and the media are concerned, these Marines are guilty, and Bush is to blame.

Did BUSH order this? That is what Murtha implies.

I am just pointing this out so that you can correct your prior missatements.
Where did Murtha say Bush gave the order? I have not seen that.
On KvM you said about Murtha: “He just couldn’t stop himself from slandering our soldiers with out any evidence, just because he opposes this war so much. He’ll say anything to turn the public’s will against the mission in Iraq.”
Did it occur to you that perhaps Congressman Murtha had access to information you did not?
You ought to be a little more careful. Slander is a strong word.

If Murtha had classified evidence that proved they are guilty, he had no business or right to release it. OH wait, there hasn’t been an investigation in full yet.
SO is it guilty until proven innocent again from you anti-military pukes? Uh yeah, that is your standard Operating procedure.
The story you link to is preliminary, not final.
Murtha instinctively thought they were guilty, with no benefit of the doubt.
Oh and don’t forget what YOUR Murtha said

Up the chain of command means that they were ordered to do it. Someone covered it up from the Bush Admin or worse, ordered it.
Slander is the right word.
He is the one playing fast and loose here with words, not little old me. He’s an elected representative, he sure as hell better be speaking to truths and facts, not ideology and political rhetoric. Too bad he can’t help but love the new limelight America haters are shining on him now that he is willing to piss on hi sfellow Marines.
