I’m watching the results of the DFL 6th CD Convention via Power Liberal and Minnvolved liveblogs while eating a pot pie and drinking a beer.

It’s starting to get a little tense between the two camps now.
One of Wetterling’s blue T-shirt brigade just exchanged with one of Tinklenberg’s green T-shirt brigade, saying that Wetterling’s the only one who can beat Bachmann this fall, and a vote for Tinklenberg is a vote for Bachmann.

Lots of chanting from both sides. I can’t tell whether I should cry over the delicious supper I’m going to miss by being stuck here, or emotion over the excitement and determination of these Democrats.

I’ve downed 2 beers. Had a chicken potpie. On my first cocktail of the day. Getting the steak ready for dinner. Oh and I’m in the comfort of my home.

Ballot #5 five underway. By the sheer love of God, there was not a Q&A session. Not sure if that bodes well for the GOP or not as far as the big guy is concerned. Although there was this earlier from Minnvolved:

A delegate asked whether it would be in order to move for a second set of Q&A after the next ballot. Guess he doesn’t know that the rules call for a second Q&A after the fourth ballot anyway.

(This delegate must be a Tinklenberg supporter. As a Patty supporter myself, I have to say that El did a much better job in the Q&A. He had more thorough and more substantive answers. Patty is much improved from 2004, but her wonkery isn’t on par with El’s. I suspect a second Q&A would be in El’s favor.)

Yes, God is on our side, Now a Strib reporter is complaining about the venue, and SIGNS ARE FALLING FROM ABOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m sitting next to a Star Tribune columnist who wants bloggers to note that that this is a terrible place to hold a convention. The circular tables lend an air of informality that is making the floor difficult to control — and the walls are some surface that doesn’t hold tape well, so we’re all dodging falling posters.
