News Flash: Democrats and the Republicans do not own our votes

The election is months away and already the Democrats and the Republicans are worried about who will be “stealing” THEIR votes. The Democrats and the Republicans do not own our votes.

The two old parties should be thanking their lucky stars for the Libertarian candidate, Sue Jeffers. It will give both parties another 4 years to try to pull themselves together and address the issues Minnesotans care about.

The gridlock and frustration seen last year on Capitol Hill caused the first ever partial state government shutdown in our 147-year history. Higher taxes and fees, empty promises, ignoring issues until an election year are the byproduct of a two party system.

Both parties believe in more spending, more government control and less personal freedom. Only Libertarians support liberty and personal responsibility, only Libertarians want more effective, affordable, efficient government. Only Libertarians will put people before politics.

Libertarians are both conservative and liberal. Libertarians believe in liberty on the issues. Libertarians take the best freedoms from each party. Democrats may agree with Libertarians on free speech, civil liberties, personal choice and privacy. Republicans may agree with Libertarians on free trade, choice in education, smaller government and cutting taxes.

Ask yourself the right question. Are you satisfied with the status quo? Does your elected official deserve your vote? Have they kept their promises? Should you reward our elected officials for more mediocrity by voting for them? Can you trust them to do better job the next four years, or will it be more of the same?

Minnesota deserves the best, do not settle for less. Do not reward ineffectual politicians with your vote. A vote for more of the same is truly a wasted vote.

One Response to “Jeffers is a Libertarian #4”

    1. Mary Says:

Andy, what point are you making? The whole world knows that Sue began this campaign as a libertarian candidate. That’s the party that told her to run, so that’s why her site is run by the LP, that’s why all her press releases, released by the LP, talk about her as an LP.

Why would the LP be pro-republican? Dumb. But Sue Jeffers is not the LP. She can align herself whichever way she chooses.

And ya’ll can stop whining about her not going through the whole endorsement process.

We all know that the GOP will wait til the last second just to get anyone…. ANYONE on the ballot in some areas. So to put a timeline on when she CAN’T try to get endorsed, BEFORE the endorsement convention, is absurd.
