Illegal Alien/Immigration Rally in St. Paul - Video
Posted by Andy on April 9th, 2006
Here is a clip of 2 speeches given at today’s Illegal Alien rally at Minnesota’s Capital. (I was in a terrible vantage point, so I am only posting this one.)
The first is a woman, who happens to be a Minneapolis Police Lt. She was standing next to Mayor RT Rybak, and gave a whopper of a speech which should go miles to prove certain people in MPD that are close to Rybak’s office, have political agendas and are using their jobs to push them.
The second is a kid/man who is whining about not being able to get instate tuition because he is an illegal.
You can find a podcast of my reactions here.

Thanks for the video.
This is absolute B.S. There is no “injustice” occurring regarding the treatment of those who are here illegally because they have broken the law. No, the only injustice that is occurring is the effort to legalize illegality.
Yep, assimilation into American society is what this is all about. That’s why I only see Mexican flags and an Hispanic translator is on hand to translate the speeches.

Looks similar to what they saw in Madison. Spanish-speaking rally. That’ll get everyone in the lily white upper midwest on board!
What’s even worse, in Madison, the public schools were allowing high school kids to play hooky so they could protest. I wonder if the same would’ve happened for a smoking ban protest?
On second thought, I don’t wonder.

I wish you would have given a more balanced view of the rally. This rally was not intended to be a whining session about not getting financial aid. It was about the proposed changes in immigration. I am not sure if know this but illegal immigrants put BILLIONS of dollars into the US Economy. I don’t have the exact numbers but I read it in article in TIME magazine. I am sure you can find it by googling. Many of these people work with fake Social Security Numbers which means they are paying our elderly and disabled people’s Social Security checks, and they will never see a dime of Social Security themselves. I simply urge you to wonder next time you are eating a piece of fruit to ask yourself how did that piece of fruit make its way to you? Who do you think is cleaning your office building or your public toilets? Another point to be made is that unless you are Native American, your ancestors came here with a dream of making life better for their children also. And they probably came before there were any immigration laws to be followed. The bottom line is that we need Illegal Immigrants as much as they need us. If you want to cut down on it, a good solution would be to help Mexico strengthen its economy so people would not be so desperate to come here.
