AMEN! I think it was a BAD IDEA to oppose this deal. I think the security arugment was a weak one. Basically saying (Congress that is) that they, themselves, are a failure (not having the right laws, etc...).

 Furthermore, the more congressional republicans start separating themselves from the president and give the hostle media ammunition, discourse amoung republicans, I think they will pay the price in November.  My gut instinct is no matter what the presidents poll numbers are, they are 1) caused more by the congressional republicans and their so called new founded independence; 2) getting back in line with the president, becoming unified, will help come november. We are the party of ideas and if unified we can win. The way this port deal played out, in the end, will be a disater for congessional republicans and the US</description>
