    My First Act as T&MSC Czar

    Posted by Andy on 25th November 2005

    I want to think The Honorable Bogus Doug for this appointment as Transportation and Metropolitan Sports Commission Czar. I will not pull Brownie on the duties I have been entrusted with. And as proof that I will take my role seriously, I have a few announcements to make on this my first day.

    1. I am banning all members of the MOB from taking public transportation. (Sorry PMB). It is very importatnt that we set a good example for society that one can get themselves from place to place with out leeching on the government or taxpayers. Therefor let it be known that on this 25th day of the 11th month of the 2005th year of the lord, that any MOB member that uses subcidized mass transit shall have their MOB credentials revoked. Furthermore as punishment, they shall become a permenent member of Obsessive Stalker Loser’s “news site” and they shall have to bathe OSL monthly.
    2. The use of cell phones by MOB members while driving is officially banned. Your are now required to liveblog all of your driving. No Exceptions!
    3. I am banning all female members from the MOB and all female spouses/significant others and relatives of MOB members from being with in 3000 feet of any professional athlete. This is for your own safety. I am also requiring that chaperones be present whenever professional athletes are in public and females and children are present.
    4. I am also placing a moratorium on any plans or construction of a Gopher’s football stadium. This is to safeguard taxpayers and the students of the U of M from further tuition hikes that are completely unrelated to educational reasons. I will also to force the alumni that blackmailed the Republican legislators and Governor into using their coercive mind control powers that they used to convince said fiscal conservatives for good, rather than evil. I will bring them to the light side. If this should fail, I have a fleet of B2 Stealth bombers on stand by to act if some one attempts to build a football stadium on campus, strategic bombing will commence in Coordination with Kevin the Master of the Hunt who will be marking all construction equipment with lasers, if the humane strategic bombing should fail, a full nuclear strike will be ordered. There shall be no Gopher’s Football Stadium on my watch!
    5. Short Bus Trivia is now the official olympic event for members of the MOB. A formal request to the International Olympic Committee is being drafted for SBT’s recognition and eventual admission as an event for the 2008 olympics.
    6. It brings me both pleasure and sorrow to announce that: Whining is now allowed in Short Bus Trivia and Terry Keegan is no longer the Quizmaster. Unfortunately he has been found guilty of doping.

    Thank you, and use your turnsignals.

    Happy Turkey Day 2005

    Posted by Andy on 24th November 2005

    THANKSGIVING DAY PROCLAMATION BY GEORGE WASHINGTON
    October 3, 1789

    WHEREAS, It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor;

    WHEREAS, Both the houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me “to recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:”

    Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the 26th day of November next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favorable interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed; for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enable to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted’ for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and, in general, for all the great and various favors which He has been pleased to confer upon us.

    And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions; to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have show kindness to us), and to bless them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best.

    GEORGE WASHINGTON

    New Blog with MOB Cred

    Posted by Andy on 23rd November 2005

    Maybe some of you have already come across this one. Almost on the Range

    We all know how important it is to change Duluth. Issues like the unfunded healthcare mandate, city spending, taxes on businesses, property, purchases and anything else the city council can think of to tax have a profound impact on our lives. We cannot get discouraged- instead we must learn from what happened and develop a strategy to fix it. Everyone, please share your ideas no matter what they are. Some will be off the wall, some will be bad, but some will be good. If a dedicated group gets together to brainstorm the wheat will be found among the chaff. Throw it out there, give us your ideas on how to make a difference.

    I have a suspicion that the MOB may have a new northern outpost in Duluth. Now if they can just make it to Keegans to simply ask Brian if they can join the MOB? Or has it gotten easier since I joined?

    Solidarity - MDE, KvM, PROM, RF

    Posted by Andy on 23rd November 2005

    I too have asked to be removed from IMP’s blogroll and site. (HT KvM PROM)

    The recent actions by you and/or Inside Minnesota Politics against Minnesota Democrats Exposed has made me rethink my interactions with your website.

    I would ask that Residual Forces and Andy Aplikowski be excluded from your site in the future ( other blogs are requesting similar things on behalf of MDE due to your site’s legal assault on his/her anonymity). If your aggregator page comes back up, I ask that you would not include Residual Forces or myself on it.

    I’d be happy to talk with you about this, but at this time I feel I must request this of you unless you drop your legal assault on MDE.

    And they have done so.

    MDE has a Legal Defense Fund set up now. There is a link at the top of the page.

    No one should have to hire a lawyer to protect their right to blog”

    Posted by Andy on 23rd November 2005

    I appreciate IMP’s quick reaction to my request to acknowledge me, the Taxpayer’s League, and my Senate District. Really thank you.

    BUT

    Why are you pursuing a lawsuit against MDE? Would your organization care to release a statement as to why? The stated offense by MDE has been corrected in a timely matter (with in hours, weeks ago). Just why are you still after the identity of MDE? Hasn’t MDE already corrected the offense? What else could you possibly gain from a lawsuit except the identity of MDE?

    More important than all of this is that IMP does not have a copyright listed anywhere on their site. In my opinion, they have no legal leg to stand on. You can’t claim copyright infringement with out at first claiming copyright.

    MDE-
    Use that angle. IMP does not have posted anywhere that their content is expressly their own and cannot be used. Even Hatch would have to agree on that one. :lol:

    I Stand W/ MDE

    Posted by Andy on 22nd November 2005

    Minnesota Democrats Exposed is under attack. No not from the usual moonbats, we all get that. This time it is Inside Minnesota Politics that is up to legal tricks to out MDE.

    Today, representatives from Inside Minnesota Politics contacted Domains by Proxy to again request that my contact information be provided so I can be sued for copyright infringement.

    MDE is seeking legal advice for a recent ordeal in which he/she used a picture from IMP, but not only linked to, but also creditted IMP

    I informed the representative from Domains by Proxy that I was at a funeral, but that I would remove the picture tonight. According to the representative from Domains by Proxy, my removal of the picture would end the problem.

    For the record, I did source the picture and provide a link to Inside Minnesota Politics.

    But rather than contacting me directly to remove the picture, representatives from Inside Minnesota Politics decided to file a lawsuit. In my opinion, the goal of this legal action was to force Domains by Proxy to reveal my identity.

    IMP is trying to get the name on the domain registration released for a lawsuit.

    There is a growing rage against MDE for its damage and exposure it is doing to the local lefty cause. MDE needs our help.

    Personal note: I’m a little perplexed why IMP chose not to even mention myself, The Taxpayer’s League of Minnesota, or Senate District 51 GOP for the 6th CD Forum I allowed them to record and post. We did all the work required to for IMP to benefit, but we didn’t get one acknowledgment at all. IS a lawsuit in order, maybe according to IMP’s sensitivity, but I am far more interested in the issues.

    Save MDE

    RF’s Recent Race to the Right

    Posted by Andy on 22nd November 2005

    On Saturday November 20th, I was a guest host on Race to the Right, a St. Cloud MN talk radio show.

    Now, you may wonder why a member of KvM would give Tony of Always Right Usually Correct(he’s still got us listed as a “lemming” in his blogroll and there is way too many posts to link to in order to explain, but he is coming around) the time and effort to drive all the way up to St. Cloud from the Twin Cities to do his and Marty’s show, Race to the Right.

    Answer: I love doing radio. And Tony is actually a heck of a nice guy in person. And he even posts mea culpas.

    I was on to fill in for Marty who was in DC, but called in to listen while on hold. (Nerd :lol: ) I was only supposed to be on the second hour but I got there early so I liveblogged the first hour.

    Topics covered were Rep. Murtha’s Resolution, the 2005 elections, The War in Iraq, the 2008 Presidential election, Pawlenty’s speech from a couple weeks ago, and the 6th District Forum I organized.

    You can find the podcasts of it here. I’m on segments 3 & 4 of Hour 1, and all 4 segments of Hour 2.

    Hour 2 Segment 2 and Segment 3 are the juicy ones about Pawlenty.

    Ha! Eco Friendly My …

    Posted by Andy on 22nd November 2005

    Not only is all this environmental movement crap terrible for the economy, but it’s bad for the Earth as well.

    THE drive for “green energy” in the developed world is having the perverse effect of encouraging the destruction of tropical rainforests. From the orang-utan reserves of Borneo to the Brazilian Amazon, virgin forest is being razed to grow palm oil and soybeans to fuel cars and power stations in Europe and North America. And surging prices are likely to accelerate the destruction

    I still remember the mystic presentations in High School science class how the rain forests are the lungs of the Earth.

    Now what? Just what will the environuts do? Using alternative fuel is good for Earth, producing alternative fuel is bad for Earth

    The rush to make energy from vegetable oils is being driven in part by European Union laws requiring conventional fuels to be blended with biofuels, and by subsidies equivalent to 20 pence a litre. Last week, the British government announced a target for biofuels to make up 5 per cent of transport fuels by 2010. The aim is to help meet Kyoto protocol targets for reducing greenhouse-gas emissions.

    Rising demand for green energy has led to a surge in the international price of palm oil, with potentially damaging consequences. “The expansion of palm oil production is one of the leading causes of rainforest destruction in south-east Asia. It is one of the most environmentally damaging commodities on the planet,” says Simon Counsell, director of the UK-based Rainforest Foundation. “Once again it appears we are trying to solve our environmental problems by dumping them in developing countries, where they have devastating effects on local people.”

    The main alternative to palm oil is soybean oil. But soya is the largest single cause of rainforest destruction in the Brazilian Amazon. Supporters of biofuels argue that they can be “carbon neutral” because the CO2 released from burning them is taken up again by the next crop. Interest is greatest for diesel engines, which can run unmodified on vegetable oil, and in Germany bio-diesel production has doubled since 2003. There are also plans for burning palm oil in power stations.

    You know what, there is something that is ready to use, already in the ground. It will not require clear cutting of land in order to produce. It does not need to be extracted from plants or trees. All that it needs is to be pumped out of the ground.

    I love it when junk science gets caught up in its own hype. All this time they have been trying to sway public opinion, now that they have gotten a foothold on it, they need to destroy the very thing they are trying to protect to do it. Oh yeah, this is a gloat day!

    Murtha on Iraq

    Posted by Andy on 21st November 2005

    Murtha on Iraq

    “We cannot win this militarily. Our tactics themselves keep us from winning,”

    “Absolutely, we’re the target. We’re the enemy,” Murtha said. “(The Iraqis) are a proud people, they’ve been around a lot longer than we have. They’ve going to win this themselves, they’re going to settle this themselves. They have to, there’s no alternative.”

    I’m guessing he is a glass half empty kind of guy.

    Wake Up and Smell the Conservatism

    Posted by Andy on 21st November 2005

    Hugh has linked to an article from Political Moneyline on Senatorial Caucus fundraising. This should wake up a few on the GOP in DC.

    Democrat Senatorial Campaign Committee
    Donations = $3,030,580
    Expenses = $1,691,585
    Balance = $20,588,392

    National Republican Senatorial Committee
    Donations = $2,350,853
    Expenses = $2,644,954
    Balance = $9,127,833

    Not One More Dime’s first effects have been felt. Unless the spineless Senators from the right can take an example from their House brothers, this trend will no doubt continue. Wake up and smell the conservatism or else you will be soon be running a deficit in your little NRSC bank account.

    Anyone ever notice that the ONLY time politicians ever brag about having “cash on hand” aka “money in the bank” is in campaign coffers? Too bad they aren’t so concerned about cash on hand in the US Treasury.

    BTW: Frist is still dead to me, I’ve pulled the plug on Warner, and have witnessed Dole’s signing of her Living Will.

    I would hope that there is one Republican Senator in DC who is willing to stand up and be the voice for the GOP base in that body. Why is it that there is not one brave man or woman amongst the 55 Republicans in the Senate that will stand up and shout from the rafters the following?

    I am a Republican, and I will fight for the Republican agenda in the Halls of Congress. I will not let my party members lie down and let the liberals ruin this country, instead I will lead the charge against it. I will fight for what I know is right and best for this country, no matter the cost to my own political career! I will serve selflessly in this cause, and never once expect to benefit personally from my actions.
