  • Happy Birthday Mr. Governor

Posted by Andy on November 29th, 2005

Happy Birthday Mr. Governor. I didn’t get a chance to say it to you, but someone is supposed top say it for me.

BTW: Next time have someone say sport coat or dress attire if that is what is expected. I figured the Wild jersey would be a good fit considering the venue.
    I figured:

    • Governor Pawlenty Likes hockey - I like hockey!
    • Minnesota is the State of Hockey
    • Minnesota has a Pro team (The Wild).
    • So I thought I’d wear a Wild jersey and lighten the mood.*
    • Oops :!:

    I WAS WRONG!
I’m sorry. It had nothing to do with what ever you said at that game, which I did not know was an issue, which is why I wore the jersey. Everyone was asking why I wore it. They had to explain it all to me. (I thought, maybe, you might need a back-up goalie or something, I’ve been itching to play again for a while now. I have pads and all.)

Anyways, Happy Birthday Governor Pawlenty from RF

Andy, you were not alone. There were others who also feared that their attire was lacking sufficient formality – but I told my wife to stop worrying about it and we had a good time anyway.

With this Governor, I do suspect that one’s presence mattered more than one’s unbounded neck. Still, it would have been nice to break into my “No Boundaries” collection – ties have so few opportunities to escape my closet.
