Rational arguments?
Like "she has served in the white house for 5 years? Again, lots of people meet that criteria. Oh, but we can't see any of the work she did.

This whole thing was labeled as the conservatives as anti it wasn't me. The conservative wing is made up of many very different groups and beliefs. one of those factions are the constitutionally minded.

I'm sorry, I want some one on SCOTUS that I know will be good at it. I want that immediately visible or proved of the nominee. In this case that was not the case.

No one is keeping you on our reservation, if you really feel the conservatives are wrong so much, either you or us are wrong in our self-characterization.

I mean you no hard feelings.

I get the imppression that you now like Hugh because he was fighting the conservatives on this. If you haven’t been listening before, get ready for some shock when you realize he too is a conservative and will soon upset you as I have. Fact is he has been off our conservative reservation on this one, he was loosing all his credibility with silly arguments.

I know very well who Hewitt is. It just wasn't enough to get me to listen to him over Garage Logic and Sean Hannity. But Joe was pissing me off lately, and Hugh's arguments were enough to get me to switch. It wasn't that he was fighting the conservatives, it was that he actually had rational arguments. Something that those opposing Miers seemed to lack.

I consider myself a conservative. I just happen to believe that there was nothing wrong with President Bush nominating Miers. I don't know, maybe there's a new criteria for being a conservative and I don't belong anymore.

Oh, and the conservatives have a reservation? No thanks, let me out.

Just last night, he was still saying that this would not happen. He said that she'd be making it to hearings. I think I also remember him saying Bush wouldn't accept her withdrawl.

And yes you can stop a withdrawl, you don't have to accept it. Rummy tried to resign, Bush refused to accept his resignation TWICE!

Hugh is wrong, gosh I love it. He said that Bush would never allow this. He was determined that the nomination would run its course. Priceless. Hopefully he will go back to the old Hugh where he doesn’t make ridiculous arguments.

He said that Bush with never withdraw Miers. And for good reason. I don't think he ever said that he would prohibit Miers from withdrawing. You can't stop someone from withdrawing, that is an irrational argument.

Anyways, I'm glad you are happy. For my part, Hugh has become my new hero and will forever be my weekday 5-8 favoured host.
