Words To Live By
"The era of small government is over ... government has to be more proactive, more aggressive." ( Tim Pawlenty 2006)

"You're just petty politicians, who'd sooner sign onto the wisdom of a tyrant in another country, than the demands of ticked off voters in your own." (Neil Cavuto June 2008)

“I didn’t question her patriotism. I questioned her judgment.” Mr. Cheney went on: “The point I made and I’ll make it again is that Al Qaeda functions on the basis that they think they can break our will. That’s their fundamental underlying strategy, that if they can kill enough Americans or cause enough havoc, create enough chaos in Iraq, then we’ll quit and go home. And my statement was that if we adopt the Pelosi policy, that then we will validate the strategy of Al Qaeda. I said it, and I meant it.” (Vice President Cheney NYT Feb. 2007)

"A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers. (Ronald Reagan March 1, 1975)

"Oh, no! First of all, if I took one vote away from a serious candidate, it would be a sin." (Al Franken Time Magazine, 9/1/03)

Now This is Why I Got Into Blogging

This has been my best day of blogging yet. I average about 40 to 50 visits a day, and my biggest spike ever was about 250. But so far today, I’ve had 642 visits and 1453 page views. My post about Jane Fonda Dissing another Generation of Troops got linked to by AOL’s News/blogs page. The others listed with me were Michelle Malkin, The Museum for Left Wing Lunacy, Dinocrat , and Agitprop.

But, why I am so happy with today, are not the stats, it is the vetrans who commented here and emailed me privately. I can’t tell you how much I enjoy the stories and wisdom you shared. Especially having had the chance to thank you, even though it may have been 30 years too late, but I’m only 29. Some of you said that I renewed your faith, others just had their story to tell, some don’t like Fonda even more than me, and others disagreed over todays’ conflicts. But I enjoyed the interaction with all of them. From policy debates, to Vet’s telling me of their own kids now in the Services, to fallen heroes’ loved ones telling that theirs would have stood guard in front of Fonda’s own bus. I couldn’t have asked for a better night.

I know 649 visits and 1477 page views is a drop in the bucket for a lot of blogs, but how many of them get a chance to raise a vetrans spirits? Ok they all do, but I’m more satsfied with the vetran’s comments and emails than any blogstats.

Thank you, all of you, and remember that America does support you.

Final Tally at Midnight: 655 visits and about 1500 page views. Back to normalcy.
