Words To Live By
"You're just petty politicians, who'd sooner sign onto the wisdom of a tyrant in another country, than the demands of ticked off voters in your own." (Neil Cavuto June 2008)

“I didn’t question her patriotism. I questioned her judgment.” Mr. Cheney went on: “The point I made and I’ll make it again is that Al Qaeda functions on the basis that they think they can break our will. That’s their fundamental underlying strategy, that if they can kill enough Americans or cause enough havoc, create enough chaos in Iraq, then we’ll quit and go home. And my statement was that if we adopt the Pelosi policy, that then we will validate the strategy of Al Qaeda. I said it, and I meant it.” (Vice President Cheney NYT Feb. 2007)

"A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers. (Ronald Reagan March 1, 1975)

"Oh, no! First of all, if I took one vote away from a serious candidate, it would be a sin." (Al Franken Time Magazine, 9/1/03)

Iranian Blogger Goes to Jail

According to Drudge, an Iranian blogger has been thrown in jail for dissenting.

An Iranian web writer arrested in a crackdown against online dissent has been sentenced to two years behind bars for “insulting the supreme leader” Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, his lawyer told AFP wire on Monday.

Mojtaba Saminejad “still faces charges of insulting the prophet and spreading curruption, which could cost him more jail terms,” lawyer Mohammad Seifzadeh said.

By Iranian standards, Dean and many others in this country of ours would face similar treatment or worse. But we don’t act like that do we?

Seifzadeh said his client had been aquitted of acting against national security and insulting the founder of the Islamic republic, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini. He said he would appeal the Revolutionary Court’s verdict.

Saminejad, 25, was based in the clerical capital of Qom. His weblog, or online diary, mainly dealt with sensitive religious and political issues.

In Iran, questioning the absolute power of the supreme leader is illegal.

Jailed since September 2004, Saminejad was picked up along with some 20 other Internet writers and technicians working for pro-reform websites.

So insulting the Ayatrollah gets you thrown in jail?

Okay, I’ll test that.

Hey, Ayatollah, you are the worst excuse for a leader I have seen. You murder and kill your people for no reason. You have one of the worst records on human rights. You are violating World Wide opinion by building nukes for war mongering purposes. You are a disgrace to Islam and the Koran. Yeah, I said it, you are a disgrace to a great religion founded on greatness but corrupted by you into propaganda. Your obsession with absolute or supreme power has corrupted you worse than any before. You are the great satan. You are the evil that walks the Earth.

And another thing.

Take that! The ultimate insult. The sole of my shoe. Ha!
I’d post a picture of you naked for the world to see, but this ain’t that type of site.

So are we clear? You don’t deserve to call your self a religous leader, let alone a good one. America is far greater than you can even imagine. Heck I have more in common with the great one upstairs. You deserve the same treatment that you give those who oppose you, if not worse.

That’s my PG version. Feel free to meet me at Keegs next Thur for an adult version.
